Irma R. Lozeau

Fitchburg, MA - Irma R. (Whitney) Lozeau, 93 of Fitchburg, MA and formerly of New Ipswich, NH died peacefully on January 15, 2024.

She was born on April 8, 1930, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Hazel (Carey) Whitney and lived in the area most of her life. Mrs. Lozeau graduated from Lunenburg High School.

After raising her family, she worked for 13 years for the Sterilite Corp. in Townsend, MA, retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Lozeau was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville, and a member the Mascenic Valley Senior Citizens Group.

Irma is predeceased by her husband, Armand H. Lozeau; her son Armand H. Lozeau, Jr.; her four brothers, James Whitney of Fitchburg, MA, and Raymond Whitney, Jr., Thomas Whitney, and Stephen Whitney, all of Lunenburg, MA. She is also predeceased by her sister, Ruth Allaire of Fitchburg, MA.

She leaves behind three sons: Phillip Lozeau of Cheyenne, WY, Kurt Lozeau of Imperial Beach, CA, and William Lozeau of New Ipswich, NH and two daughters, Mary Grindley of Fitchburg, MA and Lisa Lozeau of Milford, NH and her daughter-in-law, Wilma Lozeau of Lyndeborough, NH

Mrs. Lozeau also leaves a sister, Mildred Skinner of Scituate, MA and 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Cournoyer Funeral Home, 33 River St, Jaffrey, NH 03452.

In the Spring, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church on High Street in Greenville, NH 03048. She will be buried with her family afterwards at Central Cemetery in New Ipswich, NH
