I was a student of Dr. Boutilier from 1974 to 1978. He was an excellent teacher. He was not what some used to call an "easy A", to describe teachers who gave everyone an A, but he was excellent. I was a teacher for 10 years, then became a doctor.

Dr. Boutilier was my professor at Bridgewater State in the early 1980's while I majored in Geochemistry. He was a tough and fair teacher who pushed us toward excellence and I am grateful to have had him as my professor. His dedication to teaching and lesson of learning through hard work has impacted me positively throughout my life. He definitely leaves a legacy to those he educated. My sincerest sympathies to his family.
