Glen Hartzell Obituary
Meridian, ID - Glen Hartzell, 90 of Meridian, ID passed away on January 21, 2024. After becoming ill in 2020, he battled several medical issues, retaining his fine sense of humor until his passing.
Glen was born in Wilmington, NY on April 29, 1933 to Olmer Hartzell and Leta Owen. He attended Technical High School in Springfield, MA prior to enlisting in the Army in 1953.
Glen lived and raised his family in Bath, NH. He owned Hartzell Construction Company, Inc., designing and building feed mills and handling systems throughout New England and New York State with the help of his dedicated employees. He later moved to Concord, NH where he resided for many years. After retiring he took up woodworking, producing many beautiful pieces of furniture for others to enjoy. He enjoyed golfing, and worked part-time as a consultant for DW Clark. He spent his final years in Meridian, ID.
Glen is survived by his four daughters – Gail Clark of Boynton Beach, FL, Debra Cahill of Delray Beach, FL, Allyson Hartzell of Somerville, MA and Linda Copson of Meridian, ID. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Fitzgerald of Agawam, MA, as well as four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A service will be held on May 24, 2024 at 9:00AM at the Agawam Veterans Cemetery in Agawam Massachusetts.
