Normand Dube Obituary

Normand H. Dube

Lyme, NH - Normand H. Dube, 85, of Lyme Ctr., NH passed away peacefully at home on Mar. 4, 2024 after a long illness. He was born on Feb. 7, 1939 in Magog, Quebec, Canada to Alice I. Brousseau (Dube).

At a young age he moved to West Stewartstown, NH where he completed an 8th grade education at Saint Albert School in June of 1954. As a young man he worked as a farm hand at several Vermont farms, later joining the US Army. He spent three years stationed in Germany as a Truck/Tank Mechanic until he was honorably discharged on Oct. 9, 1967 with the rank of PFC E-3.

He returned to Bradford, VT working at the Bradford Veneer Mill and as a carpenter for Sonny Menard.

In the late 70s/early 80s he moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he was the maintenance worker at a condominium complex. There he was joined by his future wife Scarlett V. Chesley from Lyme Ctr., NH. They married on Jan. 17, 1986. After a year they returned home to New Hampshire, enjoying the remainder of their lives surrounded by their ever-growing family. He was a man of few words. He liked fishing, gardening, and cheering on his football team the 49ers. Normand and Scarlett enjoyed country music, dancing, and were both members of the Lyme Ctr. Baptist Church. He worked as a maintenance worker and groundskeeper in Quechee, VT until he retired in 1995.

Normand is survived by his three step children Theresa Cloud (husband Dana), Sherry Forward, and Thomas "Tim" Forward III (wife Barbara), 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and ½ siblings Richard, Marcel, Leo, Claudette, Irene, and Suzanne.

He is predeceased by his parents Alice and Eugene Dube, wife Scarlett V. Dube, his ½ siblings Real and Gail, and a great grandson.

The family will have a private graveside service where the couple will be laid to rest at a later date.
