SANDRA "SANDY" WISSMAN

Hatfield, MA - Sandra "Sandy" Wissman of Hatfield, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at the age of 78. Sandy was born in Northampton on October 14, 1945, to the late Jean (Gula) Symanski and Joseph Nartowicz.

She attended Smith Academy in Hatfield and graduated in 1963. Later she attended Kay Harvey Hairdressing Academy. After graduation, she worked as a hair stylist for many years in Northampton.

Sandy also worked as a postal carrier for the US Post Office in Hatfield before retiring in the spring of 2012. She covered at least all the postal delivery routes in Hatfield during her 15 years and couldn't be missed in town driving her right-hand-drive red Jeep Wagoneer.

She was super involved in her community and left a positive touch on many people's lives. She particularly looked forward to the town of Hatfield's annual Luminarium held the week before Christmas. Sandy would partake putting together hundreds of luminaries and placing them on the street outside her home and neighbors nearby. She loved traveling as much as she possibly could. From traveling to Mexico to just spending a day at the Brimfield Antique show, she was always up for an adventure. Along with traveling she loved interior decorating, upholstery, and gardening.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" Wissman, her brother Stanley "Buster" Symanski, and partner Stanley Sadowski.

She is survived by her sister's Marcia Prokop and her husband Bill of Plainville, CT; Cynthia Larareo and her husband Jack of Florence; and sisters-in-law Donna Lynde and her husband George of Greenfield and Doreen Nolan of Ashfield. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
