I would like to send the deepest condolences to the family from the Ellis family. JD was a very sincere friend to me and my family. One of the most genuine people you could ever meet. JD was positive influence around my 3 sons as they grew up.
Rest In Peace Jim. My Dear Dear Friend and Hunting Buddy.

My condolences to the family, Jim was a good friend growing up. Many great memories of us at the fair hanging out, school, sports at Bethel and just being a funny guy. He will always be remembered, RIP Jim.

J.D. will always hold a special place in my heart. I´ve known him since before I was born. He was more of an uncle than just my dad´s best friend. He was funny and kind! I have so many memories with him from childhood on up. One of my favorites from childhood was a camping trip where he fed a deer from his mouth. In recent years, our Kentucky trips for July 4th celebrations and weddings were some great memories with him for not only me, but for my children as well. It was hard not to smile when he was around...he always made me laugh. He is and will be forever missed.

James, or as he was know by me and my brothers, J.D. was one of my Dad´s hunting friends. We met him as kids, and grew up around him and the other guys. I shot my first clay pigeon standing on a firing line with J.D. and some of the other men. I learned about poker by watching he and the others play at the card table every deer season. I shot my first buck and celebrated with him and the guys. As I grew up and became a man myself, I was allowed to spend evenings hanging alongside my dad with J.D. and the others. That meant J.D. allowing me to play DJ with his radio and wallet of CDs while munching pineapple jerky he´d made (it was spectacular) while I kicked back in a corner and watched everyone play poker. We all looked forward to when J.D. would come in for the weekend. We had inside jokes we told even he wasn´t there because we wished he was. He was a great man, someone who felt like a distant relative instead of a family friend. He is and will be missed dearly.
