Michael A. Hasty Sr.

Mike passed away at home in Kansas City, KS on March 4, 2026. He was born on May 6, 1956 to David L. Hasty Sr. and Mary J. Powers in Kansas City, KS and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, John Marion Hasty and Ellen Abby Hasty.

Mike lived in Kansas City, KS and worked a number of jobs in construction and on the docks in Port Arthur, TX. He helped shape and raise so many others throughout the years. Mike enjoyed dirt track racing, Nascar, and drag racing. Oh, and how about those Chiefs?!?! He enjoyed barbecuing with his family and hanging out with his long-time friends, Kenneth Willmon, Jay Huey and Cortez. He also enjoyed drinking a cold beer and smoking his green. He loved his little dog, Lilly and tolerated his son's dog, Squirrel. Mike was sarcastic and quick with a smart ass comeback. He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Ellen Hasty; father, David Hasty Sr.; stepmother, Carol Hasty; brother, Robert E. Hasty; half sister, Crystal Noel Byerly; nephew, Johnathon Willmon; great niece, Brianna Willmon; and cousin, Steven Dayton.

Mike is survived and will be missed by his wife, Cynthia Hasty; daughters: Patricia Eskridge and partner, Chuck Tooley II, Tennille and husband, Kevin Beard, Melissa Hasty, Sarah Padilla; sons, Michael Hasty Jr. and Jermaine Belcher; six grandchildren: James Nelson, Nikki Eskridge, Victory Beard, Christopher Beard, Audrinna Hasty, and Jaxson Padilla; sister, Amber Duran; brother, Tim Hasty; and nephews, Stephen and Anthony Willmon.

Visitation will be March 9, 2026 at Highland Park Funeral Home, 4101 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102 from 1:00pm-2:00pm and funeral services from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Rev. Gary Washington | Officiant. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery.

Services will be livestreamed on Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory Facebook page. The stream will begin at approximately 1:45pm on March 9, 2026.
