PEACHLAND – On Friday, February 27, 2026, Mr. David Braxton Hasty, 84, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his loving and devoted family gathered around the room.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Peachland Baptist Church with Rev. Jerome Cash officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church and other times at the home in Peachland.
David was born January 22, 1942, in Cabarrus County, NC and was a son of the late Walter Braxton Hasty and the late Ola Mae Horne Hasty. He was a graduate of the first graduating class of Anson High School and served in the Army National Guard.
He was a long-time employee with Teledyne Alvac, having worked for 41 years at the time of his retirement.
David was a member of Peachland Baptist Church.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed time spent searching for arrowheads and panning for gold. He also enjoyed going to Hargett’s Store to listen to music.
David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He dearly loved his family and especially shared times with his grandchildren.
Those who are left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Avis Wright Hasty; his children, Chris Hasty and wife, Anita of Peachland, Angie Jackson and husband, Lee of Wadesboro, and Jeremy Hasty and wife, Kimberly of Peachland; his grandchildren, Carli Garay and husband, Esteban of Pageland, SC, Reagan Jackson, Riley Jackson, and Carmen Jackson all of Wadesboro, Emily Krebs, and husband, Cody of Poteau, OK, and Braxton Hasty of Peachland; his sister and brother, Nancy Gillespie of Mint Hill and Ray Hasty and wife, Kathy of Peachland; his sisters-in-law, Plydeane Tarlton and husband, Jimmy, and Jeanette Waller and husband, Linn all of Peachland, Jane Smith and husband, Vic and Renee Wright all of Marshville; his faithful four-legged companions, Cranberry the cat and Tanner the dog; and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peachland Baptist Church, Peachland, NC or to Peachland Cemetery, Peachland, NC.
