As a 70's Hackett student, I fondly remember Bro John for his kind, gentle manner and wonderful sense of humor. I feel honored to have known this wonderful man, a genuine example of humility and faith.

Started me on my road of education in Physics at Purcell. Was able to reconnect a few years back, sorry I never got to see him again in person to relive some stories.

Over a life time one remembers the people who had a significant impact on their life. Bro. John Lemker had a joy in everything he did. He exhibited a love which reflected his living as God desired. He lived Purcell High Schools motto, "Outstanding Among All".

I remember having Bro. Leaker from Purcell High School for Physics class. He was a fun teacher with a great sense of humor. He had a laser project set up in his back room that I found very interesting. I was also one of a small group of students to accompany him to a former students house to observe the stars and planets. The former student had a huge telescope in his roofless garage that was about a foot in diameter and you had to stand on a ladder to look through the eyepiece. Wonderful and exciting evening exposing all of us to astronomy. He was one of my favorites at Purcell. Glad he had such a long and productive life!
