Carolyn Zimnowski

Amherst, MA - Carolyn (Carly) married Leonard F. Zimnowski May 10 1952 in the Sacred Heart Church in Greenfield. While living and working on the Zimnowski farm in Sunderland she raised two sons, Leonard and Thomas.

As farming declined she applied and got a job in the Chemistry Department at the University of Mass in Amherst, where she worked until retirement.

After retiring from UMass, she began volunteering at the St. Stanislaus Church in South Deerfield doing secretarial work.

As an active member in the Church, Carolyn along with her mother Helen became Eucharist Ministers along with belonging to the St. Anne's Sodality and Rosary Confraternity.

In Carolyn's spare time she and her mother Helen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics and spending time with her Grandchildren.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to to a strong wonderful mother, grand mother and great grandmother.

Carolyn leaves her son Thomas and wife Debra of Mead Colorado, grand daughter Nicole Marie Zimnowski of Oakland Park Florida, Christopher Thomas Zimnowski and his wife Virginia of Longmont Colorado. Son Leonard P. Zimnowski of Raymond New Hampshire and his son Leonard P. Zimnowski II and his wife Ashley Borden Zimnowski along with daughters Olivia, IILa and Evelyn Zimnowski of Madison Alabama.

Calling hours will be held at the Wrisley Funeral Home, South Deerfield, Massachusetts. Calling hours will be July 26 from 9:00 to 10:00am. A service will be held immediately after in the funeral home and burial will be immediately following at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery , Wisdom Way Greenfield MA.
