James Smola Obituary
Hadley, MA - James Edward Smola unexpectedly left this world on July 16, 2024 at home. Born in Northampton, MA on November 27, 1971, he was the loving and devoted son of Edward and Joan Smola of Hadley. He grew up in Hadley and graduated from Hopkins Academy in 1990. He then led an eclectic life as a musician and chef. He will be fondly remembered for his creative family meals, good natured teasing, his unique sense of humor and his love of dogs (especially Edge, Jack, Stoli and Doug).
Jim will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his father and mother, Edward and Joan Smola, of Hadley; his sisters Susan Smola of Hadley, Anne Marie Daigle of Somers, CT (husband Daniel Daigle) and Catherine Pienkos of Monson, MA (husband Robert Pienkos), several nieces and nephews, Helena Capell, Jackson Rheault, Broderick Rheault, Mary Pienkos and Rose Pienkos and his former wife Christine Wright of Amherst.
Jim's family invites his community and friends to celebrate his life with calling hours Monday evening, July 22, 2024, from 4:30 to 6:30 at Czelusniak Funeral Home at 173 North Street, Northampton MA and a funeral service Tuesday morning, July 23, 2024, at 10 at Most Holy Redeemer Church at 120 Russell Street, Hadley, MA
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heber Springs Humane Society at PO Box 401, Heber Springs, AR 72543 (or www.heberspringshumanesociety.com). Please go to Czelusniakfuneralhome.com for online condolences and tribute book.
