Beverley Neale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Nov. 8, 2024.
BEVERLEY PEDEN NEALE died November 6, 2024, in Memphis, TN of complications arising from Acute Myeloid Leukemia that was diagnosed in July of this year. She was surrounded and comforted by her immediate family.
Beverley was born on October 7, 1947, at the V.A. Furr Clinic in Marks, Mississippi. She grew in the Belen Community along the Cassidy Bayou with her father, Clausen Cooper Peden and mother, Dorothy Lee Peden. Beverley is predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Michael and Perry and survived by her sister, Mary Fuquay (Walter) of Oakland, MS.
Beverley said she had an idyllic childhood growing up in Belen during the golden post-war years in the Mississippi Delta. She graduated from Marks High School and attended Mississippi State University. Until this year, she never missed a Marks HS Reunion.
Beverley married Charles Alexander "Skip" Neale on May 19, 1973. Two days later, Skip graduated from law school and they moved to New Albany, MS.
In the spring of 1974, Beverley and Skip moved to Memphis. Skip was a lawyer with National Bank of Commerce and Beverley worked at an agricultural chemical company.
Beverley and Skip raised two wonderful children, Patricia E. May (Delton) and Alex W. (Melissa). They have a grandson, Charles Blanton Neale, of Memphis and Christian Rocco Rizzi, of Ventura, CA. Days before entering the hospital for stem cell treatment, Beverley was on the floor with her six-year- old grandson putting together puzzles.
Beverley loved bridge, mahjong, croquet, her Suburban Garden Club and her Christ Methodist ladies Bible study group. She was active at Chickasaw Country Club and Highlands Falls Country Club, Highlands, NC.
Most of all, Beverley loved people. She gave everyone a smile and treated everyone with kindness. Her family and many friends will miss her and cherish her memory.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 12 with visitation starting at 10:00 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 all at Christ Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN.
