Riad Simaan Youssef Saba

Riad "Ray" Simaan Youssef Saba, son of the late Simaan Youssef Saba and Edale Elbanna Saba, was born July 18, 1936 in Nazareth, Israel. He attended the Nazareth Baptist School where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He came to the United States in 1959 where he attended Southern Illinois University and Memphis State University. On March 28, 1964 he married Gloria Jean Steelman. They had 3 daughters: Angel Monette, Eleece Edale, and Laurah Reushey. In order to provide for his young family, Riad began his 30 plus career as a self taught, custom jeweler; designing countless one of a kind pieces for his clients. Retiring from jewelry work, he was employed with Forest Hill, Memorial Park and Memphis Funeral Homes until 2016. Riad not only helped his clients prepare for their earthly departing, but used every opportunity to share Jesus and encourage them to prepare for eternity. Riad was a long time member of Bellevue Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Bartlett where he taught Sunday School, served as an usher and performed in many of the Bellevue productions. Riad was loved by almost everyone he met. His life exemplified Christ and will continue to forever influence generations to come through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Riad's life will forever be cherished in the lives of his brother: Kamal Saba, his niece and nephew: Kathy Saba and Camille Saba; his wife Gloria Saba and daughters: Angel Hutchison, Eleece Nephew, and Reushey Sims; his grandchildren: Adrianne Williams, Leagan Britt, Bethany Hord, Camden Nephew, Casey Sims, Caleb Nephew, Josiah Sims, and Indea Jones; his great grandchildren: Aiden and Mila Britt, Cohen and Levi Hord, and Easton Wells Britt.
