James Foley Obituary

James W. "Jimmy" Foley Jr., 69, of Millington, Tennessee, passed away on December 20, 2024. Born on August 21, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jimmy was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

A 1973 graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Jimmy pursued a career as a mechanic and retired from FedEx after many years of dedicated service. He had a passion for music, cars, and sports, and was known for his love of dogs, leaving behind his cherished companions, Major and Zuka.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Ellen Sartori (Jay); his son, Matt Foley (Megan); stepsons, James David Johnson, William Runyan, and Chris Runyan; six grandchildren; and his sister, Therese "Terry" Foley Poindexter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Foley Sr. and Elizabeth Dwyer Foley; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Foley; his brother, Edward M. Foley; and his wife, Teresa M. Foley.

Visitation will be held on January 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Canale Funeral Directors, located at 2700 Union Avenue Extended, Memphis, TN 38112, with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Poor Clare Nuns at Partners in Grace, 37 McCauley Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.

Jimmy's warmth, kindness, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
