I am so very sorry to hear that Lucas has passed. It is hard to fathom that he is no longer with us. He was such a vital spirit who radiated love for his family. Lucas lived a life of great purpose, leaving behind a legacy of love, knowledge, grit, and inspiration. We will miss him, but the example he set, and the impact he had on his colleagues and of course his family will endure forever. Farewell friend.

My wife and I admired Ceasar Sant's video performance on line when he was 4 years old. At that time, I was the orchestra director at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, NC. I and my orchestra wanted to have a fundraiser for Ceasar. Lucas/Aline were the epitome of loving parents who who did all they could for their son and all their children. Lucas took Ceasar to all his lessons, set-up home therapy in their basement for Caesar and trained his daughters how to be an active part of Caesar's recovery following his strokes. Lucas's inner strength, resilence, faith in GOD, persistence, consistence and confidence in GOD's Word guided the family to be faithful and trust in the Lord on Caesar's path to becoming free of sickle cell disease. Lucas's leadership was paramount for all the family. He was a dear friend who I admired and loved. R.I.P. my brother in CHRIST for you stayed the course for the sweet victories you and Aline achieved for your family and for all to emulate.
