David Merrelli Obituary

Merrelli, David Anthony

David Anthony Merrelli, age 79 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 10, 1945 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Merrelli. Dave was raised in Tiltonsville, Ohio. He graduated from Wheeling College with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1967, and from The Ohio State University with a Master's degree in Mathematics in 1973. He retired from WPAFB in 1994, after a 25 year career in military intelligence, working for FTD, now known as NASIC. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics for several local colleges. Dave was a faithful member of Queen of Apostles Community for 49 years. He enjoyed amateur astronomy while being a member of MVAS and volunteered for a number of years at Miami Valley Hospital. Dave also enjoyed hunting alongside his brother and his dog, Bud. David is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Nicolo (Christal) Merrelli and Aronne (Claire) Merrelli; granddaughters, Mikaela and Ella; siblings, Maribeth Fryman and Joseph Merrelli and many other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or The Alzheimer's Association in David's honor. Visitation will be January 24, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass to follow at Queen of Apostles Chapel at Mount Saint John (4435 E. Patterson Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45430).
