Eugene Coley Obituary

Dr. Eugene Jacques Coley, age 60, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 30, 2025. Born on October 7, 1964, in California, Eugene was a man of remarkable talent, intellect, and compassion. Raised in the church, Eugene developed a deep faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. Eugene graduated with honors from Indio High School in 1982 and went on to attend college. In 1985, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served for four years. Stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom and F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Eugene distinguished himself as the Enlisted Aide to the Commander and won several talent contests, showcasing his diverse skills. After being discharged, Eugene earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Jacquescoley contributed his expertise to numerous prestigious institutions, including the Centers for Disease Control, New York University School of Medicine, and the New York Medical Examiner's Office. He also dedicated his talents to the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders, traveling the globe and reaching every continent in his pursuit to help others. Beyond his medical career, Eugene was a gifted entrepreneur, founding his own company, "Projects in Motion USA CCR." However, his true passions were cooking and music. A multi-instrumentalist, Eugene played the cello, violin, piano, guitar, and French horn. Eugene's musical legacy includes over 500 performances across 25 countries, making him an esteemed session performer and cherished band leader. He spent much of his life between New York, Philadelphia, Canada where he continued to thrive as a beloved member of his community. A beloved and eccentric figure, Eugene was known for his jovial nature. If he called you "Bones," "Hag," or "Dirt," it was his unique way of showing he cared. He was also an avid traveler who, at times, would take bus journeys simply to explore the country. Eugene truly lived life to the fullest and embraced every opportunity for adventure. Eugene will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his father, Rev. Eugene Coley; his mother, Mrs. Deloris Coley; and his siblings, Eltressa Spencer, Elliott Coley, Eldon Coley, and Elshiressa Doss. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eleanzer Coley.
