Shayne Wilcox

North Springfield, VT - Shayne Jeffrey Wilcox, passed away February 2025, he was born in Bozeman, MT on December 22, 1974, to Jim and Susan Wilcox. He joined his older sister Lisa in a young life full of adventure, embracing activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, motocross.

Inspired by his father and grandfather, Shayne developed a passion for flying, which became his lifelong vocation. Shayne earned several ratings including ATP, culminating by being hired by Cape Air as a captain where he flew until his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. He then pivoted his career to airport manager at Hartness State Airport where worked tirelessly year-round to ensure the grounds were safe for incoming/outgoing planes that used the facility. He had a community of pilots who he was friends with and respected him and his love of aviation.

Shayne is survived by his two children Maisy and Lucy. He always spoke of them with joy and affection and loved spending time in nature with them when they were younger. Shayne developed a love of New England that he never thought he would. Although the mountains and landscape were smaller in the east, he found the same joy and adventure in the outdoors as he had as a child in Montana. He was passionate for music, kayaking, flying, riding his electric bike and spending time in the Vermont outdoors.

Shayne is also survived by his father and stepmother, Jim and Joyce Wilcox; his mother & stepfather, Susan Asher & Richard Harrington; his beloved sister, Lisa Tehrani (Danny); & two nieces, Marissa Waudby (Logan) & Audrey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his stepfather, Larry Asher & aunt, Judy Brandt.

A memorial will be held on Wednesday February 19th at Davis Chapel at 2pm and is open to all who knew him and his children.
