Barbara Jean Wilcox

Barbara Wilcox, 87, of Hermitage, passed away Tuesday morning, February 19, 2026, in her residence.

Barbara was born June 20, 1938, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Sebis) Komlos. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Hickory High School in 1956.

Barbara retired from her alma mater, Hickory High School, where she worked as a secretary for many years.

She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon.

Barbara cherished her family above all else. She loved vacationing at the beach with her children and grandchildren, creating treasured memories by the shore. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her most prized possessions and brought her immeasurable joy. She delighted in shopping, celebrating holidays surrounded by loved ones, and filling her home with warmth and laughter. Always surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, Barbara found peace outdoors and especially treasured conversations with her family by the pond.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Lori Francis, of Clarksburg, WV, and Carrie Costello, of Blufton, SC; a son, Tim Wilcox, of Hermitage; a brother, Jerry Komlos, of Chillicothe, OH; four grandchildren, whom she cherished and adored, David (Hannah) Francis, Ben (Melissa) Francis, Lauren (Nick) Shirley, and Matt Costello; and three great grandchildren, Annabel, Audrey, and Alexandra Francis.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, there will be no calling hours or a service.
