James George Obituary

James Harold GeorgeAugust 4, 1934 – March 15, 2025 James Harold George, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Mason, TN, on March 15, 2025. Born in Dyersburg, TN, on August 4, 1934, to James Avery George and Julia Putman George, both of whom preceded him in death, James lived a life of love, service, and devotion. In 1955, James married the love of his life, Josephine, and they were together for 60 wonderful years until her passing in 2009. James proudly served in the United States Air Force before embarking on a long and fulfilling career as an electrician at Kimberly Clarke, where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement. Known to all as a devoted family man, James was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for the land he purchased and his passion for the outdoors were lifelong pursuits that brought him much joy. Above all, his love for his family-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. James is survived by his sister, Mickey Turner, and his five children: Fabian Nelson of Memphis, TN, Renee George of Memphis, TN, Cheryl Stephens (Mark) of Memphis, TN, Nicole Jaynes (Jeremy) of Maryville, TN, and Jamie Holley (Jim) of Memphis, TN. He is also deeply cherished by his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory with love. James will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
