Celina de Carvalho Aur

1933 - 2025

Celina de Carvalho Aur, 92, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at Quail Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care. Born on February 27, 1933, in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil, Celina dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and their five children.

Celina enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her home was always open, and all were welcomed. Her home on Richbriar was a gathering place be it for visiting St. Jude’s doctors, St. Jude’s patients' families, family and friends from Brazil, or the many weekend soccer parties for the Butterflies and Eagles (local soccer teams coached by her husband). Celina was an incredible self-taught chef who made sure that no one left her home hungry. Her many dinner parties were always well attended. Celina's home was never empty.

Celina was the friend, aunt, and mother everyone wanted to be around. She traveled the world, was strong in her Catholic faith, prayed much for her family, and helped those in need. She could knit, sew, crochet, weave, and create just about any article of clothing she wanted to create including wedding and bridesmaids' dresses.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rhomes Aur and eldest son, Major Amin Aur (USAF retired).

Celina is survived by Amin's wife Elizabeth, children Zito (Tina), Monica, Didier (Kelley), and Paulo (Jeanne). The biggest loves of her life were her eleven grandchildren: Lloyd, Matthew, Paul, Emilia, Catherine, Caroline, Maegan, Andrew, Jonathan, Celina, and Ford. To these eleven and many more she was Vovó (Portuguese for grandmother). Celina also has six great-grandchildren: Everest, Lennox, Amina, Florence, Teller, and Palmer.

A celebration of Celina's life is still in the works.
