Douglas Andrew “Doug” Goode, Jr., age 73, resident of Navarre, Florida and husband of Debbie Goode, departed this life Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Doug was born March 31, 1952, the son of Nita Goode and the late Douglas Goode, Sr. He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis in 1970 and was the proud owner of Yosemite Sam’s in the 1970’s. Doug was married July 12, 2000 to Debbie Goode. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to all 50 states in his RV and motorcycle. He had a lifetime love for Newfoundland and recently discovered his love for the people of Honduras that changed his life. Doug was a family-man who had a love for people, especially being a father and grandfather.
Doug is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Debbie Goode of Navarre, FL; three daughters, Melody Jacobs (Tony) of Millington, TN, Holly Norton of Navarre, FL and Ashley Hutson (Kyle) of Vancouver, WA; two sons, Bryan Goode of Champaign, IL and James Lee Essary of Memphis, TN; his mother, Nita Goode of Jackson, TN; his sister, Michelle Sadler of Jackson, TN; his brother, Karl Goode of Jackson, TN; and five grandchildren, John Michael Canfield of Tampa, FL, Trey Jacobs (Lexi) of Hope Mills, NC, Grayson Jacobs of Hope Mills, NC, Abigail Griffith of Memphis, TN and Miles Norton of Navarre, FL.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Blakemore and his brother, Michael Goode.
Funeral Services for Doug were held at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Matthew Martin officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bryan Goode, John Michael Canfield, Trey Jacobs, Grayson Jacobs, Darron Goode, Dustin Goode and Rich Bartkowiak. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Goode, David Goode, Jett Martin and Blake Bartkowiak.
