Glenda Craig Obituary

Glenda Craig, 74, received her ultimate healing on April 5, 2025, at 7:05 p.m. in her home surrounded by her family. A celebration of life service will take place at Desoto Hills Baptist Church (4680 Getwell Road, Southaven, MS, 38671) on April 21, 2025. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the service will take place following the visitation. Born on May 9, 1950, Glenda graduated from Independence High School. She went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Mississippi Delta Community College and her Registered Nursing degree from Arkansas State University. Glenda was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years. She loved gardening, shopping, singing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Glenda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Louis Craig. They have two children, Resie Ingalls (Ty) and Ashley Craig (Madeline). She has five grandchildren: Ty II (Marisa), McKinnley Reese, Savannah (Chase), CJ, and Zack. Glenda also has three great-grandchildren: Cross, Blair, and Knox Alexander. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Crowley. With eyes full of love and a heart full of grace, Glenda truly lived like Jesus did. As a nurse, Glenda took care of those who were suffering, and for many years as a chemo nurse at West Clinic, she gave hope to so many who faced the same struggle that she faced at the end of her life. Glenda's cheerful and loving spirit provided her patients with peace and hope, regardless of their diagnosis. For her family, Glenda was truly the cornerstone. Although she wore many hats as wife, mom, nurse, granddaughter, daughter, sister, and friend, almost everyone just called her NiNi, just as her grandchildren named her. She guided her children and grandchildren with love and wisdom. Glenda was her family's confidante and loving center. She and Louis created a cocoon of love that kept their children, their grandchildren, and their great-grandchildren safe. Because of their deep commitment to each other, they created a family that walks together and loves together. Glenda's love for Jesus was a constant reminder to her family that God is in control, no matter what. She possessed an unwavering faith, even in her final days. Right now, she is rejoicing in Heaven with God and dancing and singing God's praises. In lieu of flowers, the family requests indoor or outdoor plants that can be kept in memory of Glenda or donations to DeSoto Hope at desotohope.org. Since this is a celebration of Glenda finally being cancer free, please feel free to dress colorfully.

Glenda was so very special, she was my husbands chemo nurse before he passed in `16. She gave some stern talks but always heartfelt. She brought him to tears with her kindness. She truly cared about what her patients were going through. A beautiful person inside and out,she will never be forgotten. I just know that Jesus is with her at this moment. Praying for all she has left to remember her kind heart.
