Susan Ann Evans Chastain, July 25, 2025 With heavy hearts and enduring love, we announce the passing of Susan Ann Evans Chastain after a courageous and graceful battle with pancreatic cancer. She met her illness with the same strength, grace, and unwavering spirit as she did each day of her life. Born on September 20, 1962, to Masako and Dennis Evans on Tachikawa Air Force Base in Tokyo, Japan, Susan is survived by her Mother, her sister Denise Evans, her husband Chris Chastain, his 2 daughters Petrea and Soah, as well as stepsons Garrett and Harrison Smith. Susan graduated from Yokota High School on Yokota AFB in Japan. She attended the University of Louisiana Monroe, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. Her devotion to her work and her clients was genuine. Susan took great pride in what she did and made a successful career by creating meaningful and lasting relationships as a specification representative for Hill Wholesale, BPI, and Robert F. Henry Tile Company. Susan was a woman of energy and joy. She shared her warm hugs and her Southern charm through her love of entertaining. Susan had an unmatched gift for making others feel welcome, especially during Christmas, which she cherished. She poured her heart into every detail, making the holidays magical for everyone around her - especially if you were lucky enough to be on her pumpkin bread list! Susan's love for Chris was only matched by his love and devotion for her. Unconditional love was shown in its purest form between them. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 17th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue in Memphis, TN. Family visitation will be at 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 pm. As much as Susan loved flowers, she would want you to donate to your favorite charity in her memory.
