Timothy McCannon Obituary

Timothy McCannon

Knoxville, TN - Timothy McCannon, son of Joseph and Helen (Drake) McCannon, was born on August 12, 1946 in Northampton, Massachusetts and passed away in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 22, 2025.

Tim attended Amherst High School before joining the Navy and serving during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his life in Western Mass before moving to Illinois, Vermont, and finally Tennessee.

Tim had a strong sense of resilience that characterized his life, marked by hard work in the transportation and construction industries. Beyond his work endeavors, Tim cherished his time spent in nature observing wildlife. He liked early morning drives, playing pool, and watching baseball and historical movies.

Tim is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Matt) Procell and Jennifer Escarpita, as well as his beloved grandsons, Vince and Josh Escarpita, and Royce Procell. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Jan) McCannon and sister Karen (Mike) Harwood, extended family and friends. His legacy of hard work and his proud spirit will remain in the hearts of all who had the chance to know him.

Private services were held in Tim's honor and he will be buried at sea from the Honolulu, HI port where he was stationed during his time in the service.

Tim and Gene were good friends back in Amherst in the sixties.
Tim was restless for something other than Amherst. He worked around town in those early days and was a hard worker.
So sorry to hear of his passing.
My Condolences to Gene, Karen and family.
