Perry B. Knickerbocker

Belchertown, MA - Perry Bradford Knickerbocker died at home, in Belchertown, MA, on August 9, 2025 from cancer. He was born on May 22, 1946 in Sharon, CT to Howard and Marion Virginia (Middlebrook) Knickerbocker.

He married Lorraine (Giovannucci) Seymour on May 20, 2000. Before settling in Belchertown, Perry grew in Salisbury, CT, and graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1964. He later graduated from UCONN with a degree in Civil Engineering. In 2024, he attended his 60th high school reunion and reunited with friends from the football team at HVRHS, His work in engineering brought him to places like Maryland and Vermont, but most of his adult life, Perry lived in Massachusetts, and worked at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. After living in Sunderland for over 15 years, he has since lived in Orange and Belchertown with his wife. Since retiring, Perry has enjoyed traveling with his wife, family, and friends.His favorite trip was a drive from Chicago to Santa Monica Pier, along Route 66. Perry's parents are now deceased, and he is survived by his wife, Lori Seymour, and his son, Craig Lakas, daughter-in-law, Amanda Hanley-Lakas, and his grandson, Liam Bradford Lakas.

Perry was a vital influence on the lives of his step-children, Sam Lakas and his wife, Renata, and sons, Izzy and Tyler; Jeremy Seymour and his son, Trey; and Shelley Seymour, her husband, Steve Miss, and their daughter Zoë.

The family has enjoyed many family dinners and celebrations, trips, movies, and a variety of activities with Perry.

Graveside service will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland, MA at 10 AM on Thursday, August 14, followed by a light lunch at Holy Family Parish, 29 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The American Cancer Society in Perry's name.
