Henrietta Kinney Obituary

Henrietta (Lake) Kinney

Charlestown, NH - Henrietta Virginia (Lake) Kinney, 100, of Largo, FL and Charlestown, NH passed away on August 8th, 2025, at her home with family in Largo, FL.

She was born in Pawlet, Vermont on September 11, 1924, to Henry and Rosina (Nichols) Lake.

Henrietta grew up in Dorset Hollow and went to Burr and Burton before the family moved to Saxtons River, VT.

At a very young age, she married Gilbert Weston briefly and had a daughter. She then married the love of her life Edward Kinney in 1946; they moved to Charlestown where they spent most of their life until retiring to Largo, Florida.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 771, Springfield, VT and a longtime member of St. Catherine's Church in Charlestown.

She was employed by Keil Lock for several years and she lived a full life traveling between NH, Maine, Chile, and Florida. She even traveled to Okinawa to visit her granddaughter. She loved time with family, crafting with Ed, crocheting, and dancing at the local American Legion. During her last year, every week on Tuesday and Friday at 3 p.m. you would find the ladies and a few men in the community of Town & Country at Henrietta's house to enjoy wine with Henrietta and her son Nelson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kinney; her parents; her brothers Robert, Ernest, and Henry Lake.

She is survived by her children; daughter, Nancy Lambert and husband Robert of Largo; sons Edward Kinney and wife Janice of Manchester; Nelson Kinney of Largo; John Kinney and wife Denise of Manchester; Paul Kinney and wife Maria of Chile; special nephew Lawrence Kinney of Charlestown; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

There will be no services per her wishes.
