Marie E. Blanchard

Greenfield, MA - Marie E. (Canon) Blanchard, 82, of Congress St. passed away Thursday October 16, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born July 31, 1943, in Leveret MA, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred A. (Williams) Canon. Marie attended local schools and was a graduate of New Salem Academy. She worked at UMASS, the Berkshire Commons in the food service department for many years. Previously she had worked for JH Smith in Greenfield.

Marie was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing dominos and cards with her family along with crocheting, knitting and playing bingo and enjoying Bible Study at The Highrise with her friends.

Marie leaves her children; Charlene Couture and her husband Christian of Gill, Michael Blanchard and his wife Heather of Turners Falls and Allan Blanchard Jr. and his wife Donna of Bernardston and her daughter in-law Ami Rudzki of North Carolina. She also leaves her grandchildren; Kevin Blanchard, Corey and Nicole Couture, Kelli, Owen, Noah, Patrick, Jake, Jessika, and Ryan Blanchard and her great grandchildren; Payton, Abigail and Violet Blanchard and her siblings; Danny Canon, James Canon and Elizabeth Hackett plus several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Marie was predeceased by her husband Allan Blanchard Sr, sons; Todd and Norman Blanchard; siblings Richard Canon, Dorothy Reil and JoAnne Canon.

Funeral services will held Tuesday October 28, 2025, at 11 AM at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will follow in Aaron Clark Cemetery.

A calling hour will be from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM.
