Dublin, NH - Delcie D. Bean, 83, of Dublin, NH passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 24, 2025.

Delcie was born on October 7, 1942 in Jaffrey, NH, the son of Delcie D. Bean Jr. (Jack) and Margaret Crane Bean. He was the second of six children. He was raised in Jaffrey, NH and attended the local schools. He loved horseback riding, swimming, fishing and tennis. He then attended Philips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH where he joined the wrestling team, followed by Harvard University in Cambridge, MA where he earned high honors and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish.

Delcie was an acting sergeant in the United States Army and was later honorably discharged.

Upon graduation from Harvard, he was offered a job running the Quaker Oats Company's Brazilian facility but chose to join the family's match industry instead.

He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn (Marney) Boucher, in 1963 and they welcomed their first daughter, Margaret Elizabeth (Lisa), in April of 1964. They moved to Bolton, Ontario, in 1965, where Delcie led the sales team for D. D. Bean & Sons' Canadian operations. They welcomed their second daughter, Tracey Rebecca, in 1965 and third daughter, Marilyn Heather, in 1966.

In 1969 Delcie moved his young family to Chambly, QC, where they would reside for the next eleven years. During that time, Delcie was president of D. D. Bean & Sons, Ltée in St. Césaire, Quebec.

In 1973, they welcomed their fourth daughter, Jennifer Boucher.

During these years, Delcie was an avid tennis player, earning many championship trophies from the local tennis club. He was renowned locally for his 'killer backhand'. He also loved skiing and skating and helped coach local youth hockey teams.

In 1979, Delcie moved his family to Dublin, NH where he would live the rest of his life. He continued to work for the family match business in Jaffrey, NH as president of the company.

He was an active community member. He sat on numerous boards including the progression of Monadnock Bank to Cheshire Community Bank and later CFX Bank. He was on the board of Franklin Pierce College, Dublin School, and the Dublin Public Library. He was a founder and board member of a venture capital group that sought to bring businesses and jobs to the communities and a proud member of the Grand Monadnock Rotary Club for many years.

Throughout his life, Delcie exemplified loyalty, dedication, and integrity, both in his career and personal pursuits. He was a member of the Bean Foundation, a charity founded and funded by his father that presented scholarships to local high school seniors and made countless donations to local NH charities.

He was a loving husband and father and a valued friend to many. His personality was larger than life and he treated everyone with the same friendliness and respect.

Delcie, from a young age, was a daily runner until late in his sixties. He was always a voracious reader and lifelong learner accumulating an extensive personal library collection throughout the years.

Delcie is predeceased by his wife, Marney Boucher. He is survived by his adoring daughters, their husbands and children, Lisa, Andy, Izzie, and Greta Caulton of Amherst, NH, Tracey Bean, Iain Walton (recently deceased), Taylor, Cam and Calle of Peterborough, NH, Heather, Stephen, Hannah and Kyra Smith of Bedford, NH and Jenn, Pete, Jack, Ted, and Otto McLaughlin of Peterborough, NH.

He is also predeceased by his parents, Jack and Margaret Bean, older sister Alice Brown, and youngest brother Mark Bean. He is survived by younger sisters Ellen and Betsy and younger brother Chris and a great number of cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Delcie will be missed deeply by those who knew him. His spirit, humor, and legacy will continue to resonate through the countless lives he impacted.

Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced later when plans have been finalized.
