So sorry to hear of Allan's passing, he will be sorely missed. I had the honor of working with Allan at Riverbend for almost 10 years and I am always grateful for his support, sense of humor and leadership. I learned so much from him. He was widely respected as the "dean" of the mental health center CFOs and was called upon numerous times to provide expert analysis and creative solutions to thorny issues. Allan also deserves so much credit for the development of John H. Whitaker Place. He loved that work and the investment and caring he displayed is in the culture of care that exists there. So much more I could say, but the world has lost a real mensch.

Allan was so very dear to me. I loved the time we had together - some of the BEST of my life! I truly believe the world, especially my world, is a lesser place without him. Rest in Peace, my Sweet. I will love you forever.

Dave and I met Al in 1976 when we moved from Michigan to Northwood NH. Fred, Al and Benji were living in a house on the lake that they rescued from burning down by the fire department. Al had long hair in a pony tail and loved football like us. He treated us like family and we spent many Thanksgivings together. During the blizzard of 78 we stayed overnight at his house when we couldn´t get home through the storm. Al always looked out for people in need.
Al always put God and family first. He saved many lives at Riverbend and made our community stronger. He is missed. Our prayers go out to the family.

I was so sorry to hear about Allan's passing. We worked together at Riverbend and as a new project manager, he taught me so much about budgets and federal reporting. When I had my first child, he gave us a personalized book that my son still treasures nine years later! He was a warm, compassionate guy and I'm so sorry we lost him too soon.

I am so thankful that Terry Sturke contacted me the morning of Allan's service and that I was able to attend. So many memories of a special friend, boss, and colleague at Riverbend where I worked from 1987- 2002. One fond memory is climbing the stairs to the third floor at 5 Market Lane as I told my young son Ben to say something critical of the Stealers. When we arrived in Allan's office, Ben blurted out, "Stealers Stel!" which maybe a regular manta in subsequent conversations with Allan over the years. So sad that I won't to able to say that again to his face or on the phone which put such a big smile on both of our faces. Best wishes to the family who carry on his wonderful legacy. What a special man who touched so many others.

Al was my roommate for three years at OU. Freshman year,we were on the same dorm floor where I first met him and became aware of his amazing sense of humor and his love for fun times. I´ll always remember his warmth, humor and camaraderie. The world is a much duller place without Al´s presence.

In our darkest days after Nathaniel left us Allan showed up at our door with kind words and a freshly baked apple pie.
That was meaningful to me.
I'm very sad for Eric, Kelsie and Trevor for the loss of their father.

Allan´s humor, generosity and genuine warmth were appreciated. He always made Thanksgiving for Twitchell residents a special celebration. Despite his passion for the Steelers, a good man, he´ll be greatly missed. Peaceful thoughts are with the family.

Eric, Kelsea, and Trevor and the rest of Alan's family. My condolences.
Al and I met at Ohio University when he was a sophomore, We became good friends. In 1974 Al, Fred Wolff and I lived in a rented house on Lake Shore Drive in Northwood, New Hampshire for 3 or 4 years. Very fond memories of those days, getting to know Al other than being a student at OU. Witnessed his master skills of making vegetarian food. He was always a good guy and thought of others. He is missed. Rest in Peace!

Dear Allan´s family,
I met Allan in high school thru BBYO- we had many highjinks then which continued when we , along with Garrey Flam, ended up at OU together. His dry sense of humor, tinged with sarcastic wit was always a source of entertainment. I was so sorry to hear of his passing and extend my condolences to all of you. Many years when I lived in Providence, the kids were very young, Allan stopped to visit and had the opportunity to meet his family ( I´m sure you don´t remember!) .
May his memory be of a blessing

It´s hard to imagine a world without Allan in it. At Riverbend he taught me so much. We wrote the PCC budgets together, which were always a drudgery for me, but he taught me about levity making the hardest jobs easier. His favorite topic of discussion, even more than the Steelers, was his children, his greatest passion. I will always treasure his friendship and tutelage and will remember him with respect and admiration.
