Randy Shearer Obituary

Randy Shearer

LEVERETT, MA - Randy Shearer, 67, of Leverett, Massachusetts, passed away on January 27, 2026, following a brief battle with illness at Baystate Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Randy spent his early childhood in Colrain and afterwards grew up in Amherst and Leverett. He later came back to Leverett after living elsewhere and purchased his childhood home. He was known for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Randy loved to tell a good story and brought laughter wherever he went. He had many passions, loyally following Boston sports teams like the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox, owning multiple classic sports cars throughout his life, and spending time with his dog Moose, who was never far from his side, but his children and grandchildren held the most special place in his heart. He loved them fiercely and took great pride in being a father and grandfather.

Throughout his career as a commercial truck driver and heavy equipment operator, he forged enduring friendships with those he met and always spoke highly of those who meant most to him. He was able to retire last year from Allstate Asphalt. Randy also found joy in fishing and spending time outdoors, where he could embrace life's quieter moments. Fulfilling his dream trip to Alaska brought him great happiness.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Afton Dibrindisi, and her husband, Joshua Dibrindisi, and their two sons, Jase and Ryker; his son, Corey Shearer; his brother, Tyler Shearer, and his wife, Debbie Shearer, and their children, Josh and Hayden; his sister, Robin Walsh, and her daughter, Shay Howey; his girlfriend, Lynn Mahitka; and his loyal companion, Moose.

He was predeceased by his parents, Judith Hobart and her husband, Gardner Hobart, and his father, Dexter Shearer; and by his nephew, George Shearer.

Randy will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the genuine love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed. There are no calling hours. Services will be announced at a later date.

Karen and I are so saddened to hear of Randy´s passing. He was such a down-to-earth soul, always greeting us with that quick smile and a genuine interest in how we were doing. There was a warmth about him that made every encounter feel easy and sincere.

We´re holding his entire family in our hearts and thoughts. Randy grew up surrounded by love and support, and he carried that same quiet kindness into every part of his life. His loss is felt by all who knew him, and we will miss his gentle spirit.
