Sonny you still cross may mind. When I here someone say gave honor to fallen solder, I think of you. Justin and me were going join but I was unable but he did. You fallowed what we were doing, it was to pay for college. I am now back in college tring to finsh and Justin is a paster. I very proud of him for what he has done and doing.I wish you could have made it to go to college, get married and have a family of your own. But God had his own plans and we are left with your memories in are heart.Thinks again see you some day.

I didn't know Sonny, but I do know his sister and recently I've become familiar with losing someone that was part of the person you ate today. Vickie I am so very sorry for your loss and know the feeling of never knowing true happiness again, and for that I am truly sorry as well.

Sonny you were truly one of a kind and i feel blessed to have known you. You will always be a hero in my heart and many others. Thank you for fighting for our country's freedom with pride. Sorry you didn't make it home, but.... i thought about you and your family the day i heard that we killed Osama Bin Laden. Hey big brother.. Sorry I didnt write you yesterday.. It was a very busy day for me but Sonny and I did go see you.. Sorry he broke one of your flags.. Mom was wrong about the # of years its only been 7.. But she was right about the fact that it never gets easier.. It almost feels like the whole world ended when u died.. Even though I have a wonderful son and I have made an ok life for myself, im still not happy. I dont think I'll ever be happy again until I see you.. I love u and think about you every second of every day.. ur baby sis

Hey my precious baby it's so hard to believe you have been gone for eight years now.. It still feels like yesterday. I keep waiting for it to get easier but it's still almost unbearable.. A lot has happened this year some good and some bad .. the good you we blessed with a nephew imagine with all the girls running around he sure is going to be spoiled they all love him so much I an so proud of Vicki shes doing real well with him and especially for giving us another sonny to love.. The bad I know you already know we lost grandma Lore and grandpa lore this year gma in sept. and gpa in april.. Dad and I are fine miss you more every day.. I loved it when we talked while you were in Kosovo. I loved it when we talked when I got to Germany. I still look at the pictures of us at the military ball and you just had to make sure we got the portrait of the naked woman in our picture(funny) and when we went to Oktoberfest and you made sure I got my beer mug to take home (you little thief ha ha. I still cry when I talk about you to my shrink she thinks it's good for me. I've been married for 5 years now but I still miss you, you'll always have that special place in my heart

I really can't believe it has been almost a year since I wrote u. I bet u already know I'm pregnant funny thing is I'm due on ur birthday. I miss u all the time but it seems like it's worse when I really just need a friend. I guess I just need u to tell me it will all be ok. I mean life is hard. I remember when u died everyone told me it would get easier. Well everyone lied because it's been almost six years and I'm still lookin for u. It seems like every day it gets a little harder. Some days I just wanna stay in bed lock myself in my room forever cause it seems like this lif is pointless

With the passing of yet another Memorial Day weekend, I'm humbly reminded that our family is not the only Gold Star family in Oklahoma. I've set aside time today to reflect on the past and remember that your family has suffered the loss of their soldier. Thank you for this soldier's service and duty. As he will always be dearly missed because he payed the ultimate sacrifice. He gave his life to protect our country and our freedom.

I never got to sign the guest book back in July 2004 but I wanted to say "Thank You" for serving your country; You were a brave soldier and the Sampler family had many great soldiers to serve their country which your name is proudly listed.
We love you and know your in Heaven. I did come to your funeral and was there for you and your family. No matter how many days or years go by we will never forget you or your sacrifice you did for us all..I wish you were still here with your family but God needed another Angel. I know you watch over them every day...
Gene, Kim, Gina, Skeeter, and Vicki..my thoughts are prayers are still with you daily as you miss your son, brother...I just wanted you to know the Sampler/Barlow family in Texas love you all...

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

We all miss you very much down here in the "BIG" towns of Blair and Altus. Because of you many of our lives have changed, but mostly for the better... I soon will also be in the Altus unit of the National Guard, And being able to keep good people like you in mind will help out alot!

I live with Sonny on Brassfield-Mora. We used to try to hack the wireless signals with our laptops. We never succeeded. We were just board sometimes. That was the last thing we did together just before his rotation to FOB Razor. Remeber you tried to talk me into goin down there for the night. That day lives with me always. Sonny you know me. You know i was there. I want you to know that I am still there. I salute you every year on that day at that time. For you Sonny I still try to hack signals. But I do it just to relax. It takes me back to the night before. When we just watch the skies talking (*%&$) to each other. Your still my man. I miss you. I believe i meet your mother at the ROCK FABRIC in Schweinfurt. I really am not sure. But dealing with that then was an issue. I can handle it now. But some memories will never fade. Hold it down up there.

As you know SSgt Joe A. Narvaez was killed in Iraq on Oct. 2nd. I hope yall are partying it up up there because it sure gets harder for me to deal with every day down here. I had the honor of serving with Sonny in the 1-26 Blue Spaders; He with the mortar platoon and I as a medic. We became fast friends. He was one of the last people in my room before the buses loaded us off to the dusty expanse of Iraq. I find myself thinking of Sonny nearly everyday. He was a wonderful guy who always seemed to have a smile on his face and a ready hand to help his fellow soldiers. My son was born on Dec 22 2005; I named him Sonny for the friend I miss so much.
