Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Daniel Torres US Army Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Today, on the anniversary of his death, I am honoring your loved one. I read as much as I could about your loved one and share that on my FB page so others might also remember him today. Please know I am very sorry for your loss and I appreciate his sacrifice as well as yours for our country. Peace ~ Suzanne

My little Daniel, this is your aunt Bea. Life is not the same without you. Today, February 4 is six (6) years that we don't hear your voice, we don't hear your laugh, we don't see your smile, and that terrible day that your heart left us, when your Dad screamed so loud when he saw two military officers at his door and your Mom said "is he o.k., is he hurt?"
I wish, I could have done something to "Stop the War" as you asked me, but I could not and although I have tried, it has not been enough.
Your little baby girl, Daniella, which you never met, since you died 48 hours after you found out you were going to be a Daddy, is now 5 years old.
And she loves to hear about you. She loves to go and visit you to the cemetery. She took me by surprised in May 2010, when at her grandmas house (your Mom--Lupe), she took me by the hand and showed me your military uniform that was in the closet and told me that it belong to her "papi Danny"--and she asked me "tia Bea, why did papi Danny died?"--
We love you and we will never forget that all you wanted was to "Stop the War"!

I have just learned that SGT Torres died fighting for his country in Iraq. I am saddened at the the death of SGT Torres. I was a recruiter in the Army recruiting station that SGT Torres joined the Army through. I remember when he first came in to join. He was a true warrior and will be greatly missed. The last time I saw him was in Kuwait when he was guarding a gate. Had I known then that that would be the last time that I would see him, I would have told him how great he turned out to be as a Soldier and that I was truly proud of him. May God bless his family. SGT Torres, your brothers in arms will never forget you.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shephard, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

Dear Torres Family,
My name is Demetrios Soutsos and I served with your son in Bravo Company 2-7IN. I met your son the firt day he came to our company and we served together until I left the Army shortly after returing from Iraq in 2003. Torres was a good man and he had always been a good soldier. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family and know that outside of your family Daniel will always be remembered by at least this man. I am so sorry.

TO DANIEL'S FAMILY:
I DIDN'T KNOW DANIEL AT ALL BUT THE FACT THAT I KNEW HIS SISTER. TO HEAR THAT HE PASSED AWAY IN IRAQ IS SUCH SORROW TO HEAR.EVEN THOUGH I ONLY KNEW CRISTIANA FOR WHAT SHE IS GOING THROUGH WITH HER FAMILY I COULD TELL THAT DANIEL WAS AN OUTSTANDING PERSON. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS GOING TO HAVE A FAMILY OF HIS OWN TO THEM TOO I'M SORRY. NO, I WOULDN'T HAVE THE CHANCE TO MEET HIM SURELY, HE WAS THE BESTEST SON,BROTHER,GRANDSON AND EVERYTHING ELSE HE REPRESENTS. THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON SOMETIMES IN A SAD WAY AND WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO STOP THAT. GOD OWNS EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE WORLD AND SINCE HE WAS A GOOD PERSON GOD ONLY TAKES GOOD PEOPLE TO HEAVEN. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL AND TO SAY TO DANIEL, "MAY YOU REST IN PEACE."
