Hi G-man, Momma didn't get on in September to say anything. It is going on 14 years now since God called you home to be with him. All of us are doing fine. Just still missing you. So times the hurt is bad where tears come to my eyes but when that happens I ask God to lift me up. I have a room set up that is your with all of your memorials and pictures in it. I will soon have your garden completed so that I can look out at everyday. Your brothers are fine and it is days when Reece have a difficult time. I can write a lot but I will stop for now love Mom

Gman, It's been 13 years. How time flies. It still hurts to know that you are not here physically but I know that you are in Gods Kingdom and you have your wings. When I start to feel down and sad, I take a moment to say a prayer and ask God to lift my spirit. He does. Jr. gave be a beautiful picture with himself, Maurice, and Zaegan ( Maurice's son, your nephew) that have your reflection with you in uniform and in the background of the trees looking down at them. I have it at home and one on my desk at work. I look at it everyday. When he gave it to me it brought tears to my eyes. I love you and miss you Mom. 9/4/2019

Maine the year is 2012 and we are in the month of May. I did'nt write anything for your birthday. Mom did'nt for get, just was not ready. My hurt and loneliness is still so real. I miss your face, smile and voice each day. When I go into your room, I always see the mess you would leave :) In a few weeks your baby brother will recieve his degree in Bachelors of Arts in Human Performance. It will be a glorious and a proud moment in my life. As you know, that was my dream for all of my boys. A college education. On May 26,2012 at Midlands University Reece will be the most happiest person because of what he along with Gods grace, and mercy will have accomplished one of many dreams, and goals he has set for hisself. As your dad, brother and I will be there physically, I know that you will be with all of us spiritually . Continue to be in our prescence and I know that one day we will unite. Love Mom.

December 7, 2011

Hi Maine it's been five years now and my hurt is still deep in my heart. I miss you everyday. I know you are not with us physically but know you are looking down us and with us spiritually. The men and women will soon be coming home for good from Iraq at the end of December. I am proud to be your mom and to know that you paid the ultimate price along with many other servicemen and servicewomen who also paid the ultimate price of protecting each and every one of us. I love you. Love mom.

I did not have the honor of meeting Germaine, but i purchased a coin to honor him, that is trackable in a gps based scavenger hunt. I thought that maybe someone here could tell me where he would have liked to travel so I can post that as a suggestion of where it could be taken in the world wide scavenger hunt (its known as geocaching). Any suggestions are welcome. Simply email me at [email protected] and i will do what i can to get the trackable coin to visit the destination suggested, in lieu of the Sgt. Thanks and God bless you all.

Until that time look down us and know that all that knew you miss and love you. You will be forever loved and missed. Love Mom

I went to middle school with Germaine at Clark AFB. He was really cool. I remember that he was always winning the track races. I can say this much, even in middle school, that guy was so happy around everyone and always smiling, but made sure he took 1st place in whatever he did. I'll miss you bro.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Germaine, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

You pain is deep and though we do not have any idea the pain you go through trying to take that one step to keep going we still want you to know that we care and hope that the quilt I send you will give you a sense that you are never alone for there are some of us that want to reach out and let you know that we care. Germaine, today we remember you and all of the times we have all shared together. I cannot even begin to tell you how very much you are missed. We, your family and friends, have spent a lot of time together these past few days to share our memories of you and to reflect on everything you have given to us.

As the days, months and years pass, your memory only grows stronger. We will never forget your smile, your face and especially not your sense of humor.

Germaine, we love you and your are truly missed.

August 21, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I have known Germaine for years now and he was a man with a huge heart. He made everyone around him laugh. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. September 19, 2006

To the Family of Sgt. Germaine L. Debro:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.

I am Deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Sgt. Germaine L Debro. The price this young hero and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

May Germaine rest safely in the Loving Care of God and may the Peace of the Lord be with the Debro family.

There will never be enough ways to humbly thank these heroes for their Supreme Sacrifice, my brother among them. KIA~Vietnam, 1967.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee.

Psalm 55:22

With each new day, may the Lord restore your soul and, through His love, give you the strength to go on.

Softly and slowly...

Time heals...
