Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Kelly D. Youngblood US Army Private.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

To the family of Kelly Youngblood, I just want to say that we remember the sacrifice of this young man. I sit here with his military bracelet that I purchased at Fort Benning proximally six years ago when my son was graduating infantry school. Words cannot describe what you must've felt learning about your sons sacrifice. Just know there are many of us that will never forget! You will always have us as your military family. God Bless you and your family. 5/26/2019

Thoughts and prayers to Kelly and his family. God bless you and thank you for your sacrifice
March 19, 2016
Kelly, I'll never forget you...its been 9 years, 10 since I've seen you and I still remember the first day I met you in study hall at McClintock. You made me laugh so hard I knew I had made a friend that day. I was just telling my husband about you because the thought of you popped in my head and I'll continue to tell stories of you, your comedy, kindness and friendship forever. You'll never be forgotten, Kelly Youngblood!

I don't know if anyone reads this, or looks at this anymore. But honestly, I probably took Kelly's death worse than any other death. I still wear the Krystal Ebel and Shayna Lineen bracelet, from back in '2004, but I have never felt such great compassion for an individual. Kelly used to pick on me in junior high, and I physically thought he hated every ounce of blood in me. Then, RIGHT before he was going to be going into the military, I started to hang out with him, because one of my good friend's was his good friend. From that very first day of hanging out with him, he appologized for every ounce of bad thing he did. I told him it's no big deal, I am over it, and that it doesn't bother me, but he physically felt bad about it. i told him not to work himself up over it, cause I don't care--what is in the past, is in the past. Kelly was and is a great guy. (I know this is rather long, and I appologize, but it's been bothering me for 2 yrs) That next year was my 19th birthday-- February 17th, 2007--I had a birthday party that night.... My roommate at the time, had a husband who was in the army, we got a phone call, I can't even remember what time, but it was definetely in lieu. She asked me and my other roommate--who helped the ammending process with Kelly after the years--if we knew a "Kelly Youngblood." Right out of our mouth's, yes, why? She said that he was in a horrible accident, and didn't make it. He couldn't go into details, couldn't really say anything. All I know is when I heard that, a SWARM of chills was sent through my spine. I said a prayer, and I told Kelly, whether he could hear me or not, that I will miss you immensely, and that I had wished our plans of hanging out again would've came a reality, cause Joel and I both said we would hang out as soon as he came back. But I said my prayer, and told Kelly "thank you," because it takes a very special person to make amends, even after almost 4 years. Then I said another "thank you" for doing our country great justice.
I know this was a novel, but HONESTLY, if you knew Kelly Youngblood, you would understand. And the fact being that every year that goes by and I get a little bit older, the happiness is followed with sadness, but I reflect on the positive, even if the positive that was shared was very minute, but it was well worth every second.

Like many of the other people who have signed this guestbook, I never knew Pvt. Kelly Youngblood...
I came across his name while googling my own out of curiosity.
I'm moved by how many lives he touched. Please know that, regardless of the outcome of the war or the national sentiment towards it, we all support and appreciate the work our soldiers do. They show more bravery, loyalty, and strength than I have in my lifetime.
I am honored to share the same last name and almost-first name with this young man, who was only one year older than me when he died. My thoughts will stay with him for a very long time.

Father we entrust our brother Kelly to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Man... I still to this day can't believe all of this... I could always see him wanting to be in the Army one way or another.. I went to elementary school with him at Alma Elementary School.. Not even maybe a month or two ago my good friend Logan McCarthy that also went to Alma Elementary with us forwarded me his myspace profile! I was soo excited with both me and Logan finding some of our long lost friends. Then the day I get a myspace message from Logan which I didn't hear much from since he had graduated and moved away.. I get the news always over myspace... I lost 3 people in the month of Feb. Between the 12th-22th that's 10 days... I can still remember his smile and how amazingly funny he was. Everyone that knew him absolutely loved him! I'm just sad he had to go... I didn't believe logan until I saw him in the paper and all over the news it killed me... I'm like why are soo many of my friends gone. I have several other friends that are serving at this time as well.. It worries me because one in particular Chase is at Fort Stewart in Georgia and is off to Iraq himself the 15th of may! Kelly will never ever be forgotten and I send my deepest condolences! I didn't hear of his funeral until it was all said and done and all I could do was cry because while he was having his funeral I was attending another... Rest In Peace Kelly! We all love you! <3 Roxanne

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

I did know Kelly through his friendship with my son Ryan in elementary and junior high school. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a respectful young man at that age. He spent many days at our house and we still have a fox hole Kelly and others dug one night when they spent the night. I had not seen Kelly for a few years but wondered of him often as I passed his house. I will continue to think of him and pray for his family through this tough time. When I visit my daughter in DC I will proudly go visit a wonderful young soldier and friend.

To the Family of PFC Kelly David Youngblood:
It is with much sorrow that I am writing to you. My heart goes out to you at this monumental time. You have certainly been in my thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately you have joined the ranks with many of us who have walked the path you are now beginning to tread upon. I also lost my son, SPC. Nicholas E. Wilson, March 11, 2005. He was in Ar Ramadi also. He had just turned 21. He was a turret gunner, the road gave way, the humvee rolled into a water-filled canal and Nick was trapped and drown. He had been on a mission, doing his job, just as so many have done and will continue to do. He died a hero, just as your Kelly did. He told us they were making a difference over there!!! I am here, if you ever need to talk. I have also started a local parent support group, whenever you are ready, we are here for you. You can e-mail me at [email protected]
