Hello,
We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Christopher Robert Brevard US Army Sergeant 1st Class.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Grandson, we are now starting a new year once again, 2019. And once again our thoughts are on you and how we miss you as much as when we first lost you to this world. It will soon be 12 years ago when we first had our hearts broken forever. It just never gets easier at all. You are with us always and forever. I would love to be able to sit and chew the fat with you about all the changes that have gone on in this world since you left it and get your in put on how Alaska has grown! I remember your impatience when you had to wait for 3 cars to pass our street before you could pull out onto the road.....now stop lights are needed everywhere so you can get to that same road. You are sorely missed Christopher. And I am always and forever your Memaw.

Just had to come visit you today, many thoughts of you have crossed my mind this past weekend, due to Saturday was Veterans Day. I want to Thank You, my brother(your Dad) along with many others that are protecting our country still today. As well as thoughts of all the men who gave the ultimate sacrifice like you have. Today marks 10 years of not seeing your face, not being able to hug or kiss you. The fact you are not forgotten all these years proves what an honorable man you had become. It's just amazing how many people still miss and talk about you. We can never repay you or the many brave soldiers who "gave their all" the greatest they could ever give, with their own lives. Not being able to see you does not mean we cannot feel you because you are forever living in our hearts and our thoughts and through the girls that you have and loved so much. With a heart full of love and gratitude, I remain forever your Memaw.

Christopher, coming up on 10yrs since you passed. I was thinking about you lately and your Grandmother our Mom. Of course those thoughts of all the ones that have lost their lives in a senseless war always cross my mind frequently. Wishing Mom was here to chat with at this time in my life but I'm sure ya all have had many conversations on the crazy things going on in this world as you both along with many others watch over us. May ya all stay resting in Peace.

Dearest Grandson, the words expressed here in all the pages of your memory book tells exactly the person you were, what kind, and just how much you did for so many people. And that's exactly why its so hard and so many of us will never get over it. It's left a huge hole in the hearts that just cannot be filled. I know you are now a Soldier of the Lord and that He is using you to help with so many things, To think of you as being a leader up there makes it a little more bearable. The Lord knows for sure we need you all down here in this earthly world. I think it would be hard for you to recognize a lot of it here now. I will never forget the many times you made my hair stand on end doing things only boys do to make ones hair stand on end! Happy Birthday Christopher. You are remembered each and every day. And being here in Alaska where you lived, brings you that much closer. I feel you everywhere. And love you forever. Memaw

Brother how I think of you often, and pray for your beautiful girls & Amber. Chris I know your up there keeping things in check. I love you, I miss you, and keep you in my thoughts always. I would like to talk about you for a bit, for your family. Chris you were the most honest, dedicated, open, and caring person to anyone that met you. You were that friend that you call in the middle of the night and is always there. I often get mad when I think of you and the loss for all of us. I also remember you patriotism and how it defined you, me and so many others. We choose the path knowing the ultimate price. Yet it still upsets me, they took an angel from us, and that is unforgivable to me! I'm in my own fight now with the C word. Just had a son and Talia is now 24. Yep "woopsie"! I putting up a fight on this and it may work out. If for some reason it does not, save me a spot brother, have the woofer out so we can listen to some Tupac & Biggie. No matter what I carry you with me consistently, and I know we will see each other again. Thank you for all the kindness, I love you brother!!

Can you believe how many people love you and carry you in their hearts? We don't forget. To the family and friends of SFC Chris Brevard, I knew Chris as we were station at Fort Richardson. I admired the platoon he was in, they were always on the go and did their jobs very well. I couple of months ago I came across a picture I took of Chris and SGT Ford at the time. They both had the biggest smile I ever seen. I remember your dad and husband, as a man that smiled a lot, devoted to his job and was full of life.
I know you all miss Chris so much; I believe his beautiful spirit is always watching over you all.

It snowed on the anniversary of your passing and since you always loved the snow so much I know you were with us knowing we would all be thinking of you even more than we already do everyday. Everyone loves you so much and misses you more than any amount of words could ever express. Time is suppose to heal but it doesn't seem to in this case. Our hearts are just as heavy today and will be forever. Your spirit is always in the air and you are forever missed & loved. My Dearest Nephew Christopher,
"One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it.You believed in living it for a better world, and freedom for all, Your belief and sacrifice of yourself along with many others, will live on never be forgotten. Eight years ago today, Chris, you lived, fighting for your beliefs and you sacrificed that with your life. That is a fate you had more terrible than dying in your eyes. That fate and your belief will be remembered by all who knew you. I can't believe it has been 8yrs since I received that devastating phone call of your passing. In a way it makes you realize how fast and short life is and to cherish every moment with the ones you LOVE. I thank you for your sacrifice and will cherish every moment I have in the rest of my life, and until I can see you again.

Hey dad, I just found out that this page existed today. It's crazy to think that you've been gone for so long. I remember the last time I had the chance to tell you that I loved you and to say goodbye I didn't because I didn't want to cry. I pretended I was asleep because I didn't want to cry when you were leaving, and I always just expected for you to come home because "you can't hurt steel" but when those guys came to our house to tell us what happened that's the first thing that came into my head. I never said goodbye and I regret it so much and I'm so sorry. For a while I just pretended it was a dream and that I was sleeping and that you were gonna come walking through the door again, but I eventually started to realise that it was real. I'm so thankful to have been able to know you for the few years I did, words can't even explain how much I love and miss you. I know youre watching out for me because you've never let anything bad happen to me, when I got in that car crash it was really bad but I knew you were watching over me because I felt strangely safe while it was happening, and I don't think that's normal haha. I think about you every single day, I wish you could've been there for my first gymnastics competition and my first day of Middle school and high school. But Im sure you were watching from up there:) I love you so much, and I hope you see this. You were such an amazing person and you meant so much to so many people, you were loved by so many people and it really shows as I read all the other comments that people have left. It makes me feel proud that you are my dad, you are a hero to so many people, you are my hero. I love you always. - Emily

Grandson, Memorial Day is approaching and the memory of you is not really a memory as you are so close here. It's hard seeing your girls grow up so fast, hard to believe how big they are getting, well into the teens now. I remember asking you what would happen when they started dating and you said you would be sitting there with your shot gun! Well I think you are watching over them still because they are not dating yet and in this day and age it is a blessing. I know you are very proud of them. I am still talking to you through this computer and I know you get the messages, you always did and you always answered. Forever here with me and all the rest of us who know you, your very old Memaw.

Dearest Grandson, It is the 5th anniversary of your death and is approaching the late evening hour when you died. It is also the same day you died this year. They keep saying time makes it easier but I have not reached that time even yet. I just wish you could ride that 4 wheeler down from heaven and give me one more ride behind you on it. Oh what a blessing that would be! But until we meet again I can only take that ride with you in my dreams. You will always be remembered, you and all the other brave soldiers that had to go too soon. I am very thankful that they are coming home now and pray they get to stay awhile.
No words can ever tell you just how much you are missed. Your Memaw remembers her first grandchild with so much love the heart can barely hold it all. Chris,
Hey bud, you would never figure it, but I am back here in Baghdad as a contractor working with the 25th Infantry Division Headquarters on Camp Liberty. They have a real nice memorial set up for all who gave everything with a revolving LCD display that I catch a glimpse of you every now and again as I walk into the building. I have found you placard amongst the many, and touch it for luck almost every day. When I see your image come up, I tell everyone that is with me ‘there’s my buddy” and my mind flashes back to the great times that we had up in Alaska working at the Academy and out riding four wheelers. I miss you, but not as much as your beautiful family does. You are still, and will always remain in my mind.

There is just nothing that will fill the space in my heart that you left empty. It will always be yours. If only Superman could backtrack into space, years, and let us see you once more. Since that is impossible, we will all have to wait until we meet again to give you all those hugs and kisses. You will never be forgotten and life without you is lonely indeed. This Memaw is yours for all time.

"DAY IS DONE, GONE THE SUN," is the beginning of the mournful TAPS. Today marks the third year of your death, March 16, 2007. The truly amazing thing is though the sun has dimmed greatly since your death, your soul keeps shining more brightly than the sun ever has. Your spirit keeps sending down rays of light to those who knew you and loved you. Your friends, your family, all of us have been very inspired by the way you lived and the way you fought for what you believed was right for everyone. Your sense of humor still brings a smile to all our faces. Your love for all of us will forever shine out in all the photos we have of you. He was all the things all of you say and he was more. I could not have ask for a more perfect child. I miss him and those that didn't know him have lost out.
I would like to sincerely thank all who have written, spoke of him, his friends, and people who we don't even know, but share the same pain. Thank You All.
Chris's Dad.

To the family of Sgt 1st Class Christopher R. Brevard:
I am a Blue Star Mom that came across this website and received your hero's name on a bracelet bag. It was amazing to me that the date I got the bracelet with his name, was almost to the day of his ultimate sacrifice. I cannot tell you how moved I was by his story and the tributes to him. Please know I will be forever grateful to your entire family for your sacrifices. You all will always, from this day forward, be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless your family and God bless Christopher.

I enjoyed working next to SSG Brevard in the NCO Academy, which has now been dedicated to him. Great soldier and great leader. The last time I saw him was when he had graduated Ranger school. He had lost over 20 lbs. I was sitting across from him in the ATL airport and I didn't recognize him until he started talking to me. I thought he was a stranger just trying to say hello. I laughed for a while because he was so thin. This was after he had left the NCO Academy. It was the last time I saw him. My condolences to his family and friend.
WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU CHRISTOPHER

Christopher...I think of you every day and the pain never gets any easier as time goes by. I talk to you often and hope you can hear me. I never knew the kind of pain I feel could exist but sadly it does. Our family will never be the same without you. I know we had our huge differences and we sometimes didn't always get along but you are my brother and I always did and always will love you. Not only are you my brother but now you are also a true hero in my eyes. I am so proud of who you were and of the huge impact you had on people when you were still here with us. I had no clue how many people's lives you had touched. I am so angry that Amber and the Girls got cheated out of the worlds best husband and father. I am so angry at myself for not having a better relationship with you and for not getting to know as an adult the Great Man you were to so many people. You truely are a hero in my eyes and I will forever hold you in my heart. Your nephews ask about you all the time and they all have your picture up by their beds. Aaron says it makes him feel safe to have Uncle watch him sleep. Only God knows why you were taken from us but we have to believe it was because you are in a better place. No one who had such the impact, such a great life, no who was as great a man as you, would be taken from here unless it was for better. Wherever you are Christopher, know you were liked, cared about, love by everyone who knew you, and most of all will always be cherished by your friends and family.
I love you....Your Sister....Kelly

Chris, you will always be remembered and never forgotten by ones who have known you and by ones that you never even knew because of your courage and bravery. I want to thank each and everyone who participated in the Illinois motorcycle run, and I have also sent Bonnie your parent's address so they may have your dog tag from this event. I only wish that you and I would have known each other better but you will always hold a special place in my heart.
Your Aunt,
Robin

My deepest sorrows to the family of Christopher R. Brevard. Sadly did not know this fallen hero personally. Last night in Marcelles Illinois we had our freedom run. This motorcycle run, donations help maintan the Middle East Confict wall memorial of our fallen heros. I received your son's name on my Illinois Motorcyle Freedom Run dog tag. I came across this site on the internet. This brought tears to my eyes after reading about this brave hero. I would like to send the freedom dog tag I received to his family.

It's been one year and eight days since Chris was taken away and still I’m finding it so hard think he’s gone.
I constantly find myself digging through boxes to come across all the souvenirs I’ve stashed away in between ever little thing. I pull them out and quickly find a safer place to keep them. As if I could lose them too.
It’s funny when you think of all the things you didn’t say or everything you didn’t do. How everyday life seemed too much to take five minutes just to talk.
I always had words to speak to him that I will never get to say now. I mumbled them through tears during his funeral, though threw all the sobs I felt Ambers pain the most. I knew my pain could never run deeper then hers or the girls but I had my own just as everyone else who came that day.
All those years ago he was my best-friend even if he was the best friend of the guy I was dating; he was my tormentor at times but always my biggest hero.
Forever he will remain as that loud guy with that funny haircut, who loved his beautiful wife and girls more than anything in this world. I can never forget his face when he first made Amber his wife or the day he proudly held his daughter for the first time. He achieved something most of us never will. Greatness!
Chris, you are someone I never will forget, in fact I don't want to. You mean the world to me, and now finally I have told you this.
