We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Pickett Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Emanuel Pickett US Army Staff Sergeant. Emanuel, today I sit here, the day before Veteran's Day, looking at your pictures, remembering the times that we had together, how you called me Macaroni, you took care of me the first day I was in the unit. We planted a tree in your memory on the 6th. It is a beautiful Cherry tree. There is a plaque of black marble under it with your name. It is the first tree that we have planted here at Gasconade Veteran's Memorial Campground. You are not forgotten.

I met a Soldier and the father of a Soldier that served with you in the 1132nd a couple weeks ago. It still is unbelieveable that you are not here with us. Life will never be the same.
