Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Malone Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Patrick A. Malone US Marine Lance Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Patrick we shared such a special bond from the first time I met you at blockbuster. You would come in to rent movies or just stop by and we would end up talking for what seemed like hours. Everytime you came in you could always put a smile on my face. I remeber the day you came to see me before leaving, it would be the last time we ever spoke. You told me you would be back soon and it wasent goodbye. I just want you to know that I still think about you and you will forever be in my heart.

To The Malone Family,

I am very sorry for your loss, I could not even emagine the pain and heartache you must be going through. If I could say anything to Patrick now it would be " Thank you for fighting gor me, for my family, and for our country." We may not always agree with what we are fighting for, but we can all appreciate the people who do the fighting for us. Your son is a Hero.

To the Malone family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Patricks' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Patrick, I just wanted to say thank you for your brave and honorable service to a grateful nation. Like so many others you have volunteered to serve our country and protect the vary freedom America was built on. Please know Patrick that you like so many other fallen brother and sisters in arms that you will never be forgotten and you are heroes to us all. My nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward also paid the ultimate price on 5/6/08 while on a routine patrol in Anbar Province as an MP. His unit was ambushed and came under small arms fire and he was taken from us. Not a day goes by that I do not think of him and all our brave heroes serving in our armed services. I stand tall and salute you Patrick and will forever honor the memory of you along with my nephew. To the Malone family words cannot express enough the pain both our families now must endure and my prayer is that the memory of your brave hero carry you through each day as you cope with this tragic loss. Since the loss of my nephew I have written on every single legacy page of every fallen soldier and included a photo of my nephew. I encourage you to do the same to Aaron's page. I have done this to honor my nephew but to let you know your loved one is not alone and my nephew is with him and they are now in God's gracious hands waiting for us to join them one day. From the bottom of my heart please except my sincere condolences and may the memories of your Hero carry you through each day for he will never be forgotten!

To the parents and family, I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to heal you as He gives comfort to you today and for the rest of your lives.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

To the entire family of Lance Cpl. Patrick Malone,
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your son was a very special person. He has touched the lives of many.
I received a call this past Sunday from my son who is also a Lance Cpl. in the United States Marine Corp
He was very upset when he called and told me about your son.
You see Lance Cpl. Patrick Malone and my son were in Platoon 2104 together, and graduated from bootcamp together Nov. 30th 2007.
I remember how proud they were that day, and how proud we the parents were of them.
God will help you get through this, and our prayers will continue.

Patrick,
You are the most kind and loving person I have ever met in my entire life. It is so hard to think about never being able to see you again. I will deeply miss those days when you came over and we talked and laughed. I cannot wait until the day I can see you again.
You are a wonderful man. I remember when you told me that you were going into the marines. I couldn't believe that you actually wanted to do that, but I knew that it was a part of you. It was something that was in your heart. You always followed your heart. You loved me continually for many years. I do hope you knew that I loved you as well. I loved you very, very much Patrick. Remember me when I walk through those gates. I can't wait to see you again and hug you like we used to. You know, that ring that you were going to buy me, give it to me later. I think that you were going to marry me for a reason. I'm sorry I didn't figure it out sooner. But for now, enjoy heaven. I love you, Patrick! I love you so much!

Dear Family & Friends of a Brave Soldier - Hero:
Look to God for your strength in your time of weakness. Thank you for raising a fine young man who was willing to fight to keep our freedom and our country safe. I did not know your son nor your family but I am grateful to both. May God be with you and wrap His loving arms around you. You will be in my prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. Malone,
We are the parents of a Marine who also served in Iraq and we want you to know that the hearts of Marine Corps parents everywhere hurt for you. Though we all fear they might come to harm when they deploy, we all hope we won't hear that the worst happened. For you it did. Every citizen of this nation owes your family much love, prayer and appreciation for having raised such a brave young hero. There must be a special place in heaven for such Patriots. We will never forget Patrick and his sacrifice. And we will not forget to raise your family up in prayer to God, that He might grant you special grace as you deal with this.
God Bless You, Barbara Mueller

Marble Church NYC, Ribbons for memory of servicepersons lost in the war.

George Rogers

I attend Marble Church in New York City. Part of our service is to place a ribbon for each serviceperson lost during this war. Yesterday I placed the ribbon for Lance Cpl. Patrick A. Malone. I served many years ago on active duty in The Marine Corp, discharged with the same rank.

I feel it important for Patrick's Family to know of our ceremony yesterday and prayers for him and family, and all servicepersons in The Forces of The United States. GOD Bless you HIS Son Patrick and his family....

Dearest Patrick,
In August of 2005, I never thought my roommate would turn into a brother. As those memories of freshman year are pushed back in the chapel of our minds, our friendship and brotherhood still stand tall and infront of my heart. I thank you for being there - being there when I needed a friend, being there when I needed some sense talked to me, and being there when I needed a laugh. I'm going to miss you. It is with honor that I call you "hyung," because you truly were and always will be remembered as an older brother to me... I thank you for your selfless duty, and even more, I thank you for being you...
