Ray Losano,

We did memorial push-ups for you not too long ago. Your picture and memorial workout hang proudly in the Brad Smith fitness facility. A lot of guys poured out a lot of sweat to remember you.

Lee Blackwell, a respected member of the TACP community, told us about your final moments, how even under fire you still pushed to save the team.

To the family reading this, Ray Losano is not forgotten. Thank you for your son, husband, and father.

Losano family and friends, please accept my condolences. I never knew Raymond, I just happen to see a picture of his head stone. I read his story about his service and bravery. As a fellow brother in arms, I felt compelled to sign his guest book. Again, my sincere condolences and may Raymond Rest In Peace.

I can not believe its been 17 years since I received that phone call that changed my life. 17 years this world has been without you. There is not a day that goes by that you are not thought of and that I thank God for allowing me to have the pleasure to know you. For those that didnt now you; this is how they should remember you. Making the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Remembering you today and always. You paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Forever grateful, forever missed!

On this Memorial Day Weekend brother I am here in Del Rio to speak to your family and friends to tell them about the young man I was blessed to know for too short of a time. You are my brother and I will tell everyone who will listen about you so your memory will not fade. We walked into a hornets nest that day and as bad as it was you performed your duties without hesitation and with bravery. You set me up to control that stacks of platforms that were sent to push back that attack. I didnt want to let you go and still hold on to you in my mind everyday trying to help you some way. To say that I miss you and Im sorry isnt and will never be enough. Rest easy brother!

Memorial Day 2013:
People seem to forget about the sacrifice you and many others have made. They forget why they are bbqing or why they have a 3 day weekend. I am reminded everyday, for everyday that I don't hear from you or see you reminds me. Thank you for your bravery, thank you for our freedom. You are my hero and I will never forget you! Alf and I were talking about you and how you and him used to drive me crazy singing to the sound track to "Good Morning Vietnam". And the "H & L lawn service", you had to work to pay for the phone bill that summer. Sorry! I miss you, but I hold our memories in my heart always. See you soon!!!

To the family of Raymond Losano,
About a year ago I purchased a bracelet from herobracelets.org, with all of Raymond's info, and from then on I have worn it every single day since I received it in the mail. It constantly reminds me of what Raymond and other men have done to fight for our freedom in this country. His story has inspired me greatly, and I plan on attending TAMU, be in the Corps Cadets and serve under the USAF. Though I have never meet Raymond, he has impacted the life of a 16 year old kid.

Thanks

Hi my darling boy. 10 years ago today we lost a wonderful young man with a promising future -- YOU. Doesn't seem like it's been that long already. Your girls are in Arlington today with you. We'll be there next week and, as usual, TJ will be with you. I wonder often what you would be doing with your life now. You would be so proud of Alorah and Lily. They each one have very definite traits of you, from their looks to their impish ways, they are definitely my Little Devil's daughters. We love you, sweetheart, and miss you every day. Tio Tito and Tia Thelma.

Well, my sweetheart, as usual, KGUN 9 did a bang up job and put the pictures of our local fallen on the news at 10 pm and we got to see your handsome face. More than I realized from So. AZ. Your Tio and I both yelled at the same time, "there's Raymond." We were in different rooms during the news. Lots of pictures from Arlington on the news, as usual. We knew there was a flag flying and we knew TJ had been there. He never forgets you, does he? Till next time, sweet boy. We love you and miss you every day. Tio Tito and Tia Thelma.

Okay, okay. I got the message. You're still here and irritating me like you always did and laughing like all get out the whole time while I yell at you to stop it. I know yesterday was your birthday. You know we talked about it yesterday morning but you wouldn't let me forget it, would you? Just had to make me feel miserable all day long. That's okay, though. I feel better today. TJ will be to see you this weekend, son. It'll be his last time for a while. He'll have to miss the holidays this year. It's time for him to deploy again. He was on deployment when we lost you, has been back since and now going again. Hopefully this will be the last time before he retires. Your girls are doing great. Growing like weeds. They are real beauties. Smart, too. You'd be proud. Okay, baby. Gotta go for now. We love you. Always have. Always will, our little devil. Tia Thelma and Tio Tito

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

Ray, the community has finally put up a memorial to honor our fallen at the Schoolhouse. The retreat ceremony was done recently and the students and cadre all formed up outside the dorms and dedicated it with a great ceremony of Taps and push ups. I'm currently on another deployment and want you to know that every bomb I drop is done with you and the other fallen TACPs in mind. You are and never will be forgotten brother.

I hope I am not mistaken, Today, I had the pleasure of meeting a Gentleman on the buss. This Man spoke very Dearly of his Son. He shared with me that if his Son was still with us, he would have turned 29. This Man speaks of his Son with such pride and Honor. Actually it was my honor to have sat next to this Man and listen to all the wonderfull things he shared about his Son. I felt this Man's sorrow and pain, tears rolled within my soul, since I did not want to make it obvious I was being torn in pieces by the beauty of this Man's love for his Son. I was blessed by sitting next to him, listening attentively. I never met my Dad, but I just wanted to say to this fallen brother that I felt His fathers love for his son, and tasted a little of what it is to have a Dad..As I said in the beginning I am not sure if Raymond is the right person, since I did not get either names, all I could remember was that your Dad, said you would have turned 29 this april..Happy Belated Birthday..and I wanted to say thank you Raymond..RIP

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the Losano family,
Please know that just as your loved one will forever remain in your hearts and minds, his sacrifice and that of your family, will remain with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

If I am not mistaken, you gave your life near Shkin. They call it Losano Ridge now. I lost a friend near there shortly after you. We fought hard numerous times on the battlefield in which you fell. I really know nothing about you, but your name is on a KIA bracelet that I've worn since my buddy was killed

You are remembered and respected. Thank you Airman 1st Class Losano!

August 15, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the Losano family, my deepest condolences to you on the loss. I know its been a couple of years but I still remember Ray daily. He is defintely a hero and we will always miss him. I remember meeting him in Tucson by random chance when he was on the Recruiter's Assistance Program and happened to swing by our squadron with a bunch of DEP'ers. We wondered who the kid was that was wearing the black beret and made sure to verify he was indeed a TACP. His enthusiasm for what he was about to embark was catching and I will miss him.

To the O'Neill family, my condolences to you as well. Indeed, Evan and Ray were lost on the exact same ridge and I remember them both everyday I look out to the east from Firebase Shkin or drive by the wadi system they were lost at. We had a memorial service out here a couple of weeks ago for two more servicemembers killed here and I couldn't help but think of them. Ray, Evan, Fuller, Thomas, and all the other heroes lost in this area will never be forgotten.

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

To Raymonds family, I am very sorry for your loss and I know how tuff it is. We lost our son PFC Evan W O'Neill 29 Sept 2003 on a ridge in Shkin Afghanistan I believe was named after Raymond, it's called "Lasono Ridge". If it is any consolation it is a great honor to have the site of a battle named after one who gave his life for his fellow troops. Try and remember the good times and keep in mind that Raymond was a true American HERO. Support the troops still in harms way and never forget the ones we've lost.

Raymond Losano was a good friend and a blast to be around. We shared mutual friends in Del Rio and he made Freshman year one to remember for me :)and was always a very sweet and considerate person. To his wife and children whom I know he loved very much you are in my thoughts and prayers and To Ray's wife I was happy to see at his mothers that after Raymonds passing you still had the strength to give birth to a beautiful baby with his sweet face. Though we have never met please know you are in my prayers as you raise these beautiful children.

To Mrs.Losano I remember you saying it seems unreal that it's like he is still over there somewhere. I cannot even begin to imagine as a mother how that must feel and I pray that God will ease your pain.

With all my love,
