I would express my condolences to Gary & Monica Brinton for the loss of Gary's father. I would hope that you would know that we all mourn at the extinguishment of a bright light, no matter how long that light may have lasted.

In the latter part of 1991, Elder and Hermana Brinton came to our Costa Rica Mission after their mission in Argentina. My husband was the new mission president, and we needed help with the medical problems of our missionaries. They were such a blessing to our mission for the approximately 5 months they were there! Not only were they on "call", they also went to every zone conference where Dr. Brinton met with every missionary who needed medical help, wrote out their medical history (which Leah later transcribed), gave Gamma Globulin shots, and they both gave "grandparent"love and counsel to the missionaries. My husband often asked Elder Brinton to bear his testimony to the missionaries at the conferences. He always bore his powerful testimony with gusto in English with some Spanish which the missionaries loved! He often taught them that as they preached the gospel, their sins were forgiven -- I think he quoted D&C 31:5 "Therefore, thrust in your sickle with all your soul, and your sins are forgiven you..." He would often tell a missionary in his unique Spanish, "Usted is un bueno hombre!" Tom and Dr. Brinton also loved to share "fish stories!" The last time we visited with Dr. Brinton, he was fileting some fish!
They were both very loving and hospitable people, and we feel very blessed to have known them. Con amor, Tom and Susan Hendricks

We are sorry for the passing of Elder Brinton, but know that he is very happy being reunited with Leah. We knew Milt couldn't be without Leah very long - their love for each other radiated from them always.
We lived with Elder & Hermana Brinton in Costa Rica while serving a mission. They had a room in the small apartment that we shared. We loved to see their kind, caring affection toward each other. We took full advantage of the banana bread and homemade whipping cream (that we shook in a jar with a marble) that Hermana Brinton made for the missionaries visiting Dr. Brinton. Dr. Brinton helped many missionaries.
We were greatly influenced by their spirit, love of the Gospel and love towards us and each other.
Elder Brinton was always happy. He loved to try out his Spanish on anyone that would listen. We appreciate his and Leah's great example to us.

Dr. Brinton was our family doctor when we lived in the Bay Area. He was always respected, and to this day I honor him as one of the outstanding influences in my life. My father, George Bogue, and mother, Delpha as well as my sisters Carolyn and Edith were his patients also, and I remember many visits to his office on "Pill Hill" in Oakland. I also remember invitations to his home in Pleasant Hill (?), and sliding down the stairs in his home with the rest of the kids and electrically charging ourselves to shock everyone we touched. I remember the first flu shot he gave me (about 12years old) and counseling with him about my Armed Forces physical. He was always a very gentle Physician, and a great example. I did not know he was in Utah or I would have made every effort to visit him. May our Lords blessings of comfort be upon his family and friends.

Dear Brinton Family:
Linda and I were saddened to read of your father's passing. We were blessed to become acquainted with your parents at the MTC where he served as a Counselor to me. We grew to love them dearly and appreciated their goodness and faithfulness to the missionaries. I was even lucky enough to go fishing with him once (we caught our limits). We fished too long and were running late and so after arriving back in Provo, he sent me home (to American Fork) to change and get back in time for our meeting with our missionaries. After the meeting he "invited" me to his home where he presented me with the "catch" all filleted, thanked me for going with him, and sent me home to be with my family. His enthusiasm and love for our Heavenly Father was evident in all that he did. We have thought of both of them many times and are thankful that we became acquainted. We extend our love to each of you at this time.

Condolences from Ken and Lorna Kyle (Ottawa); Karin [Kyle] and Dick Bybee (South Jordan] and Lorna [Kyle] and Robert Boot (Atlanta). "Brint" and Leah were good friends of our late parents, Lorne and Lilian Kyle, and helped fellowship them into the LDS church in Montreal in the 1940's which has blessed all our families.

Dear Family,
Our thoughts are with you at this time. Milt was a wonderful man, and we all enjoyed his wit and wisdom. I will never forget the time he took my parents and Clyde and I fishing at the Farallone Islands in his Boston Whaler. I thought I would die I was so sea sick. Then on the way home we got lost in the fog and I really thought I would die! We did catch TONS of fish, though--two or three every time we cast in. You all must have many wonderful memories.
Much love,
Julia Witham and Family
