Fill not yours hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles. I've only gone to rest for a while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am but as I used to be because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a while. As long as I have the love of you. I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

I had the pleasure of watching Mikey play a few weeks back while visiting in CA. I am Patrick Kelley's aunt from Florida. I remember him playing with the cast on his arm and thinking that not much was holding that boy back. I am sure he will be missed and remembered by all on his football team for the rest of their lives.

Mikey. I miss you so much. Congrats on making Varsity. You are now a CCS Champ :). Los Gatos won't be the same without our number 52. My prayers are with the Halpin family. Mikey always managed to put a smile on anyones face. And even after a long day of school, he was highly motivated to play football.I remember eating lunch with you and hanging out by the field. No license, but we could always walk. The word everyone keeps throwing out is "infectious." Infectious smile, infectious laugh. I have to agree. You are missed Michael. I miss you.

Family memories are so precious. I remember the time when Michael wore a white suit at the young age of two at our wedding. He was so cute dancing with his sister Rose. How fast time has gone by. We will miss you, but know that you are at peace and by faith we will be together again. I am reminded of how precious time is and to make the time with family and friends a priority. From my family to yours, we love you Tim, Sherri, Rose, T.J. and Michael.

We are so very proud of Michael and what he was able to accomplish in the short time he was here with us. Even though we never had the opportunity to get to know him, he has always and continues to be in our memories and hearts and will truly be missed but we know he will always be with us in spirit. The final score of the football game "52" is a sign that he was there with all the many people who gathered together and honor him as his team won the championship. We will miss you Michael but we also know you are now at the Lords side and at peace in Heaven.

we will nw=ever 4get you sweetie...

My wife and I have been attending the games this season so we are familar with the great team spirit and drive Michael showed in every game. We will be at tonights game against Palo Alto to root the team to victory and a championship in Michael's honor.

I didn't know Mikey as well as i would have hoped but everytime i talked to him or hung out with him i always left with a huge smile on my face. He was a funny and great guy who always had a smile on his face and a positive outlook on everything. He could brighten up the cloudiest days for everyone. There's definitely something missing at LG now that he's gone and everyone feels it. We all miss you Mikey, rest in peace #52. <3

Dear Tim, Sherri & family: He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction. My prayers and love.

December 5, 2008

To Tim, Sherri,Rose,and TJ,
My deepest sympathies to all of you . Losing a loved one is the hardest thing I've ever endured, however losing a child, there could be no greater pain. Please know that I will always be here for you guys and I hope that michaels memories, and joy's of his life will carry you through this difficult time. Rest assured if you ever need him, he'll be there, always. May God comfort you and guide you in understanding why Michael had to go "home" so suddenly, you may never understand, but please remember, he only takes the good ones, and your son and brother was definately one of the good ones. He is an angel now, and will comfort you all in this difficult time. It is not the ones who die that suffer, but those who are left behind. Rose and TJ, please don't worry, my mom and john will take care of michael. TJ and sheri, if there is anything I can do for you, ANYTHING, please let me know. To my nephew Bryan, I know this is a difficult time for you, but know that I am here for you too, to help support you and rose with whatever it takes to help you through this terrible time. Be strong and ask God for guidance, he won't let you down. He has a plan for all of us. Even though Michael's life was cut short, and we all feel anger, sadness, and disbelief, his life touched many people and he will live on in the hearts of everyone he knew, as he will continue to live on in those he has helped to save. God Bless you all, I love you guys. Kelly and Aunt Kelly Osiakowski-Kichak and Family.

Dear Sherri Rose and Family, I am your cousin Kathy Wray from Oregon. I haven't seen you in several years (I'm sorry for that) but Family is Family, and our Hearts are broken for the loss of Michael. I think he was about 5 when I last saw him, which was Aunt Pearls 80th Birthday here in Oregon. I know there is nothing that anyone can say that will help at this time, I wish there was. With all the love I have seen on just this one news Guest Book, I can see he was a wonderful young Man with many friends who truely cared about him. I know you must have been very proud..... God Bless You All. Love, Cousin Kathy and Uncle Jim Wray

December 5, 2008

Michael,
I never got a chance to know you, but I'm positive that you were loved and will be missed terribly. The thing for your friends and family to remember is, we never really die. We live on in the memory's of the people that we've touched along the way. We keep on giving advice and insight through the lessons that we lived and sometimes taught. May you ride the wind, in the hearts and minds of your brothers and sisters, parents, family and friends,

to michael's family. I met michael at your house last year in the back yard,we were doing a baca ride on a saturday or sunday. even though i spoke to michael only briefly i recall how his presence impressed me. not in an arrogant way but in a softer, confidant gentle way, especially for a big guy like michael is. I found this to be a wonderful attribute & an advanced development of character for such a young man. we talked of motorcycles, football, high school, & a liitle phiosophy of life. he was very engaging & had alot to say! i send my deepest sympathy to you tim & your wife and all your family members for this tremendous loss. sincerly, Rondo Beutler

Mikey,
I remember the first day I talked to you. We sat in the back room of the history classes for half the class period missing our quiz and in that short amount of time we talked about the funniest things and very personal things. You were such a funny guy and it was so easy for me to talk to you even though I had just met you. Working on history with you and grant was so fun and you always found a way to make me laugh no matter what kind of mood i was in. We'll all miss you so much; thank you for being such an amazing person and always being positive. My deepest condolences go out to the Halpin family and Mikey's closest friends. R.I.P Mikey!

Mr. and Mrs. Halpin,
My dad called me last night with the news. I was deeply sadden to hear what he was telling me. To know that Jordan's forever best friend had passed was and still is something I don't want to accept. But I know that I as well as others must accept it, and keep our heads up. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am so honored to have known a such a great person.

Michael,
With great sadness and tears in my eyes I sit here and just remember how you were the last time I saw you which was in your football uniform. You and Jordan go way back to preschool and remained the dearest of friends. I think Jordan spent more time at your house sleeping over or just hanging with you while you two played games hours on ends. Some days I would tell your mom that the next time Jordan comes over I'll bring his birth certificate since he wanted to spend so much time at your house. One of my fondest memories of you two boys that we often look back on and laugh now was when you boys were about Kindergarten age and we had a playset with swings, teeter totter, and slide and you boys wanted to see how destructive you could get and you beat the living tar out of the set with baseball bats that nothing was useable anymore. For a moment in time you turned into the Incredible Hulks and the next these sweet little innocent boys. The two you had something special besides just calling upon the two of you by name Michael/Jordan not to be confused with the famous one, but it always had that nice ring too it. Michael we'll miss you terribly and know that you are without pain now. Thank you for being a real genuine guy and being Jordan's best friend. I was so proud to watch you in football, even the little guys would scan the back of the shirts to point you out. Rest in Peace Michael.

I can't think of the right thing to say to make things at least a little bit better.
I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to say the right thing to make people and even myself feel better.

I just remember Mikey when he was little, we both went to the Clubhouse at Blossom Hill, and I remember him being just an awesome kid.
Knowing what happened just makes me miserable, but I'll always carry him in my memories.

Mikey was a great friend and great team mate. He was always happy and never let anyone down. I would give anything to tell him how great of a person i think he was. I will always remember him and there is a special place in my heart for him.

December 4, 2008

As a team mate of Mikey, i got to know him at a personal level for the past year and there is not a single thing more any of us could have asked from him. It was great to see him achieving his dream of playing for the football team and he was doing a great job at it, always giving his very best. He was purely happy to be out there everyday and we were just as happy to be there with him and call him our friend and teammate. I think i can speak for every the whole team when i say there will always be a spot in our hearts for Mikey. He had a great heart. My prayers are with he and his family.

Dear Tim and Sherri,

There are no words that I can say to ease your pain. I can only imagine how you feel. My son Patrick Kelly #57 is so deeply hurt that one of his best friends, one of his football family members is gone. Patrick was so happy when Mikey decided to join the team. Mikey is a wonderful young man, always very kind, always had a smile on his face. Was always there for my son. They have some wonderful memories together. I couldn't ask for a better friend for my son. He will be deeply missed. He will alway be in our hearts and in our thoughts. Mikey is an Angel looking down on us. Mikey was one of ma best freindz at school. back in da freshman, sophomore, and junior year he waz part of our group. I remember it waz me, alex rodoni, patrick kelly, jason galvan, tyler, hamilton fairburn, and of course Mikey. Mikey changed so much since then like joining da football team, making better decisions,

maturing, and everything. He was hella funny, nice, and so many more thingz at the same time. He was like da perfect friend. I can almost guarantee dat nobody had anything against. And if if der waz i would like to know because I'm 100% sure der wasn't. That's why people loved. When people were down, he would alwayz cheer em up. I don't think he waz ever sad. There were so many great memoriez of him dat I have. All the way from the crazy mohawk hair cut he once did, all the way to playing video games wit him, all the stupid thingz we did.

It kills me that the day of the final he won't be able to step on that field. Everytime I think about this, it makes me feel like crying. I think to myself "what did he do to deserve this"? He wasn't asking to die. What I mean by this iz like for example your drunk and you decide to drive or whatever, that's what I mean by asking to die.

Mikey waz a great friend. It takes a lot for me to cry. Even in the past when I lost loved one's...I never cried the way I did with Mikey...

I could go on all day writing bout him...I just want to let you know that I'll be praying for Mikey and his family until the day I die. He ain't ever gona be forgotten in my life...
God Bless ya

I dont know how to express what im feeling in words. Mikey was the best kind of person, kind, funny, outgoing, courageous, athletic, strong. He always had a smile on his face and had no problem being himself. He helped me understand that paintball was one of my favorite sports and he taught me so much. I remember having a conversation with Mike about the afterlife and he believed in heaven and thats where he will be waiting and I cant wait to see him again. He will always be in my heart and slowly the hole will fill with the great memories I have with him. So thank you for bringing Michael Halpin into my life and my family also want to send all the love they can and if you guys need anything at all we are here for you.... Im so sorry.....

We did not know your son, but as parents our hearts go out to you. We cannot imagine what you must be going through. May the care and concern of family and friends sustain you until you are reunited with tears of joy.

As the mother of sons who play football (one for Los Gatos and one for Saratoga) I wanted you to know that your family has been in my hearts and prayers, and that our community is here to help you in anyway needed. I did not know Mikey personally, although my oldest son Matt shared classes with him and hung out with him over the summer. He must have been an exceptionally special young man to have touched and befriended so many lives. My son is heartbroken to have lost a friend that made him laugh and enjoy life, yet he is thankful to have known Mikey and have the opportunity to make some great memories together. May God ease your pain and sorrow and give your family the strength to face tomorrow.

My name is lincoln julius.
I knew your son back in elementary school and he was a great kid. He was a big kid who had a big heart to match and I will miss him dearly. I know he's in a better place. Even though I mourn his death, I still celebrate his life knowing It was a good one no matter how short.

Watching the Los Gatos Wildcat football team bus pull out of the Westmont parking lot last weekend will be a fond memory I will always remember. This football game was one of the most exciting high school football games I have seen in years. A game that the entire team will always remember and will always be proud of. For each player, a defining moment in their lives.

Mike shared and contributed to the team success and enjoyed one of the greatest victories of the Wildcat football legacy.

The smiles and celebration in each of those school buses had to be a great moment for Mike and his team as they headed back to Los Gatos after this amazing game. I can only imagine how each player felt after this win.

This weekend as a team, school and community we celebrate the efforts of a great friend & teamate Mike Halpin and his entire football team.

My deepest respect and warmest thoughts are with Mike's entire family, friends and teamates.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Dear Halpin Family:

When I saw the article in this mornings paper I was so saddened to hear that Michael had passed away. This was such a tragedy. I did not know Michael or your family, but as a mother of 2 sons who played football and now 3 grandsons who have played, I had to send you my deepest sympathy at this tragic time. My love and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time. To the LGHS football team, coaching staff, students and community, I send you my deepest sympathy. Win Saturday night for Michael as he will be your guardian angel watching down on each one of you and he will be so proud of you.

I remember playing football on the grass with Mikey his freshman year, messing around with him and his friends in the rain. He had heart. I wish I could have played with him on the field. He will be missed.
