Shirley McKinley Obituary

Shirley McKinley DUDLEY Shirley M. (Landry) McKinley, 77, of Dudley, formerly of Bellingham, Waltham and Newton, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Milford Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 56 years of John W. McKinley. Born in Newton on July 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Arlene (Morel) Landry; loving mother of Scott O. and his wife, Anne McKinley, of Wellesley, Brian W. McKinley of North Grosvenordale, Conn., and Alan J. and his wife, Mary McKinley, of Quinebaug, Conn.; and devoted grandmother of Stasia, Hillary and Elizabeth McKinley. She was the sister of the late Myrtle P. Ackerson. She was a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1949. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper at Charlies Tire of Bellingham for 10 years until retiring in 1993. Also, she was the advertising and personnel manager at Kmart in Milford, and the advertising manager at Kmart in Natick. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Dudley, and formerly St. Blaise Church, Bellingham. Mr. and Mrs. McKinley were married Sept. 21, 1952, in Newton. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. A funeral will take place Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 9 a.m., from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte. 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.Visiting hours are Tuesday, Dec. 2, 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley M. McKinley to the American Parkinson Disease Association, APDA Massachusetts Chapter, 72 East Concord St. C3, Boston, MA 02118, or online at www.apdama.org would be appreciated.
