Susan Brock Obituary

Susan Jablonski Brock, 59, of Randolph Street, Morganton, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at her residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Burke County, on Jan. 24, 1950, she was the daughter of Ruby Sims Jablonski of Morganton and the late Ted Jablonski. Susan was a caring and compassionate nurse. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Johnston and her husband, Kenny, of Morganton; sons, Jonathan Black and Chris Brock and his wife, Torie, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Jacob Black, Konner Johnston, Erika Black and Brian Black; her long-time companion, Dean Winkler of Morganton; a sister, Sandy Wilson and her husband, Mark, of Charlotte; brothers, Phil Jablonski and his wife, Sharon, of Morganton and Gregg Jablonski of Shelby; and a special cousin, Faye Franklin of Morganton. The memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. I'm so sorry for your loss.I had the pleasure of working with Susan at Grace ridge several years ago and also was her neighbor.She was one of the finest people I ever knew.I did'nt know she was sick.Just remember you will carry her with you always in your heart.

Some people come and go in your life, but you still love them. I had not spoken to Susan in many years and did not know she was sick. In the early seventies we were like sisters holding each other up during trying times. Susan was a very special person. She gave me love and support when I most needed it.
