Not sure what to say?

Michael.
I am so sad, really sad, to see your picture in the paper and read about your passing. I knew you from 2nd grade on, when I was in Mrs. Byers class. I can't remember who you had as a teacher, but I remember you standing out and I did think you were special. You gave me a carved little heart, that I proceeded to lose at my grandparents home off Gopher Canyon Road, and I still think of how many hours I looked to find that little heart. But I have it for a good memory, right? And you touched so many people's hearts and minds, quite possibly without ever knowing it. I had you in art classes as a Senior with Mr. Averell (spelling) and I rememeber, also, how talented you were as an artist, along with Doug Redfern. It's amazing how short a time high school is, but how long the memories last. I am glad to have known you and know that you were married to Marilyn Jernigan, she was so very special also. All my best to your children and grandchild, I am sure the time that they had with you was amazing. All my best, Carilyn Walker Vice. P.S. Marilyn sends her best also to the family.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. It's comforting to know that God cares for all of us. The Bible gives us hope that one day we can see our loved ones again. On behalf of all mankind Jesus surrendered his soul. John 15:13 says “No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul on behalf of his friends.” Truly I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loved one and I hope these few words will bring you comfort and hope.

I will miss you Mike. I am glad I got to see you earlier this year, if only for a short while. I'll never forget your kindness and wit, or that sparkle in your eye. Truly one of a kind and an American hero. My thoughts and prayers to your family.

Mike lived life according to his own interests and ideas. He was a true individual. Conventional pursuits, popular culture, and the latest fads were just foils for good-humored derision and laughter, lots of laughter. Joining up with Mike was a journey of discovery and adventure with the reward of a loyal and irreplaceable friend.

May you rest in peace, your family and friends also. My condolences to all.
