I am so sorry for you loss; Aunt Doris will always be in my prayers, she was so special. It has been such a long time ago when she opened her home to me, a shy home sick 19-year-old sailor that was really just a boy trying to learn how to be a man. I have such great memories of this time I spent with Aunt Doris, Guy, Kirk, and Karen. I would like to share a poem that I find particular reassuring that although Aunt Doris is gone from our sight she now united forever with your dad Max, Kirk, her parents and all those that went before her to God’s kingdom.
The Ship
Bishop Brent
A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says She is gone.
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her. Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment, when someone at my side says she is gone, there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout - There she comes!
That is what dying is. A horizon and just the limit of our sight.
Lift us up O Lord, that we may see further.
My prayers are with you all,
Your cousin Bob (Bobby)

Dear Karen and family, we were shocked to see your Mom's abituary. She was such a pleasant person. I enjoyed chatting with her on many occassions. She was such a strong person and I admired her very much. Even though you had moved I thought of her often.
