i am proud to say that i was this lovely man's niece, and a finer, lovelier, most humble man was he. he was my dad's younger brother, and losing him was like losing dad all over again, Rip Tio Temo!

The legacy of this man's life achievements are immeasurable. May we never allow the man himself, or his contributions that he left us over his life time, ever be forgotten

For Bill...
You gave animation a
whole new meaning.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

I was watching the 2009 Emmy awards with my son last night and during the memorium I discovered that Bill Melendez had passed away. I felt as if a member of my family had died. I discovered Snoopy when I was a little girl and he has been like my best friend ever since. He has been with me through all of the bad parts of my life and now even though times aren't so great he has been there to make my kids happy through the heartaches of life. Thank You so very much Bill Melendez for giving your voice and your heart to bringing to life such a mischievious, but very Lovable dog that still lives through your voice. You like Sparky have made my life so happy and I will always thank you for that. All of my Love, Brenda

I had the honor of working with Bill in the early '80's in my capacity as a Program Practices Editor with CBS Television. The Peanuts specials were a delight and Bill, with his wonderful crew, were a joy to work with. Good bye, Bill.

Sunday my five year old Grandson was playing with a Snoopy toy. He exprssed his love for Snoopy three times in one breath. He then told a story that depicted Snoopy and brought a chuckle. We agreed that Snoopy was really something else.
Later that day I read abut Bill Melendez. What a great gift he left the world.
My condolences to the Melendez family. My prayers are with you.

Dear Melendez fAMILY,
Mel made my life worth living. I was an abused child and luckily I
got out of that situation. He made me smile when other adults made me cry. He still continues to make me smile. I will miss him. Thanks for letting us have a piece of his life.

To the Melendez Family, I have long been a cartooning and animation fan. Bill Melendez' name, for me, has always been connected with my beloved Disney, Warner Bros. and, of course, Peanuts cartoons. I'm a Snoopy Fanatic but for some reason didn't remember that he was the one who gave him voice. He has left a wonderful legacy of laughter, fun and good humor for generations to come. He has enriched the world with his contributions. God bless Bill and your entire family.

I can't tell you how many times I have seen "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and wished that I had the courage that Charlie Brown had in facing the holiday. Snoopy to this day remains one of my favorite characters. I try to get my kids to look at the specials when they come on but they just don't get it. I cried when Shultz died and I can't tell anyone how sad I feel another great person has left us. Your family is in my prayers.
