Martha Gerry Obituary

GERRY--Martha Farish. The Directors and Staff of The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children mourn the death of our beloved friend, Martha Farish Gerry. A dedicated Director for over 54 years (1941 to 1995), and Treasurer for a quarter century, she was a passionate supporter of The Society, the first child protection agency in the world. Her tenure as one of our most longstanding Directors served as an inspiration to all of us committed to the mission of protecting children, and we benefited greatly from her wisdom, generosity and dedication to our work. We deeply appreciate her extraordinary commitment to the welfare of children and extend condolences to her remarkable family and many friends. MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF MARTHA FARISH GERRY. MY MOTHER WHOSE MAIDEN NAME WAS DOROTHY FARISH JUST PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 86. I HADN'T HEARD OF ANY OTHER FARISH FAMILIES UNTIL I READ MARTHA'S OBIT. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FARISH FAMILY OF NYC AND MARTHA? THANK YOU.
