Teresa Lynn Southard

Teresa Lynn Southard, 45, of Grottoes, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

She was born in Waynesboro, on January 31, 1963, and is a daughter of G. Bernie and Elizabeth W. Barnhart of Waynesboro and the late Judith R. (Rowzie) Barnhart.

Teresa worked as a nurse at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. She graduated from Spotswood High School and received her nursing degree from Blue Ridge Community College.

Surviving in addition to her father and stepmother is a daughter, Tia A. Southard of Palmyra, Virginia; a sister, Juana Barnhart of Grottoes two brothers, David B. Barnhart of Baker, West Virginia, and John Barnhart and his wife, Lillian, of Grottoes; a stepsister, Cheryl Wharam of Waynesboro; and a stepbrother, Jeff Bragg and wife, Lucy, of Waynesboro.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2008, at the Grottoes Chapel of Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Pat Velanzon officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes. The casket will be closed.

Tim Rowzie, Tony Rowzie, Guy Rowzie Jr., Brett Devier, Fred Baars, and Joe Stipic will serve as pallbearers.
