Ralph W. Eastwood II CHURCHVILLE

Ralph Waldo Eastwood II, 80, died Monday, September 15, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center.

Born February 20, 1928, in Johnson City, New York, he was the son of Ralph Waldo and Dortha Eleanor (Macumber) Eastwood.

Mr. Eastwood served with the United States Navy during World War II and graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. degree in civil engineering.

As an engineer he was employed by Glen L. Martin Aircraft, Serge Burns Consulting Company and Virginia Metal Crafters of Waynesboro. He and his wife also operated the Reservoir Street 7-11 Store in Harrisonburg for 14 years. After retirement, he was employed part-time by King's Daughters' Hospital and the Staunton post office. He also maintained a local taxidermist business for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kim Eastwood; a brother, James Eastwood; and a grandson, Adam Paul Jackson.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Elizabeth (Lewis) Eastwood; five children, Kathy Jackson and her husband, Arthur, Karen Sheheen, Kitty Eastwood, Ralph Eastwood, and Randy Eastwood and his fianc?, Kim Cabbell; a sister, Anita E. Hetman of Waynes-boro; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be no public services.

Memorials may be directed to the Churchville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 608, Churchville, VA 24421.
