Giuliano DeGrassi Obituary

DeGRASSI - Giuliano, of Huntington on July 30, 2008. Beloved husband of Connie. Cherished son of Maria. Devoted father of Jennifer (Tony) Iozzia, James (Kathena), and Jodi (Mark) Cupo. Beloved grandfather of Jake, Kaylie, and Ava. Dear brother of Arianna Vig. Visitation Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-5 and 7-9pm at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station. Mass Saturday 9:30am at St. Patrick's Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to VNS Hospice of Suffolk, 505 Main Street Northport, NY 11768 or Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation, 300 Community Dr., Manhasset, NY 11030.

To Connie and the DeGrassi Family,

It was with great sadness that I heard about the loss of my best friend, Giuliano. I remember meeting him about 24 years ago at our prior jobs, and since then we became not only colleagues but great friends. Our bond became even stronger as a result of us carpooling about 20 years to/from Brookhaven National Lab. I will always remember him as being very intelligent and professional at work, the kind of person who I went to for advice about technical matters and also to talk to about our common outlook on life.

I had the pleasure of working with Guilliano at BNL for many years on several projects. He was always very well respected by everyone that he worked with both for his expertise and his character. I was saddened to hear of his passing and he will be sorely missed. - Tom Joos
